Axelback upgrade gt 5.0

If you guys had a choice between adding boss side pipes to a current gt500 axelbacks without resonators or to switch to borla S types for sound increase what would you choose.

I like the idea. I think it would sound great and there's something to be said about achieving that with all ford parts. Do it. Good luck.

I'd go with the boss side exhaust. Buyfordracing has the best price for them.

IMHO, I'd go with Borla. Although I haven't seen the side exhaust in person, I'd be afraid of discoloring the side skirts down the line if the exhaust flow was accelerated. Then again, what do I know... Your car, your money, your choice.

I remember i read somewhere that the side pipes don't flow air through them, just sound. I put my hand near the side pipes and it pushed then sucked air back in equally during idle.

Do you have the restrictor plates on?

Also I doubt it would discolor the side skirts since the side exhaust points down and out.

Thanks for ur responses, im leaning towards the boss sides. Is there a chance of rattling noises coming from the side exhaust?

There is always a chance of any exhaust having a rattle after install and if it does then you have to just crawl up under there and search for it. Are you doing the install yourself?

Either way. If you get a rattle inspect it for loose bolts, pipes touching ect. If you cant find the issue then take it back to the shop. It happens sometimes so there is not much you an do if it does....... fix it.

Side pipes just add weight. No performance benefit.

Side pipes are a waste of money. From the videos on YouTube can't tell much of a difference. No performance for 700 bucks I would def go borla s type they sound amazing
