The stock shifter is garbage... Every mustang owner replaces them!!

Not a sign of an issue... As sign of a smart mustang owner.

Good luck.

Never hurts to low ball a dealer... Maybe you'll get lucky if they want it off the lot. Hard to say... KBB usually is pretty close. Low mileage car... You won't have much leverage.

Ya I told her on phone I won't buy a car for over 27 otd and she keeps insisting to come down . Just a hour drive for them to say well we can't let it go for that would piss me off lol . And ya I wouldn't mind a higher mileage car for less then 26 just it's black on black doesn't come up often. Literally going back and forth in my head lol

Of course they want you to drive an hour... They they say 28900.

And they know you are less likely to walk away since you are invested in time and travel... Oldest trick in the book.

Your instincts are correct.

Get them to email you a quote or don't even bother.

dealers pay low prices so you may have wiggle room, the best way to go is to take up as much time as you can from the sales guy and the general manager etc to tie up all their time so they feel they need to sell this one or feel like they wasted the day lol.

If its private party then you can always try, if people need to get out from under a payment they may sell (near first of the month why make another payment )

Carmax... Basically no worse than a dealer... Just a sale without a buying one from them.

Black book for Illinois
Retail
Extra clean $26,165
Clean $25,075

Black book trade in, what they likely paid for car max.

Extra clean $21,875
Clean $20,585
I bought mine December 1, 2012, I seen several in Chicago area for same money as mine.
Search cars.com, auto trader, and the one I like the best, Aol used cars.

Most cars will appear on both sites, not all, mine didn't. If your serious, you have to search every day. The real deals only last a couple days. I've seen them listed in the morning and sold when I called in the afternoon.

Ya I know but seeing how I work m-f 9-6 it's hard as I don't have time to go to a dealer except sat. I think 27 is a fair price is they do that and get it in a email il go. As far as my car should I keep tuner and flash it back to stock with stock intake .

Keep the $400 dollar tuner. There's not a dealer out there that's gonna give you a price over phone or email. I found two cars in your area with 6k miles on them, one is $24,500, the other is $25,400, 2012s but both are silver. And that was the first site I looked on. If your really set on the black, go look at the car, I think you can get it at your price. Go armed with the info I just gave you, I got it on autotrader. Good luck.

If you do go see it, and they won't give you the price you want, specially after wasting their time, go back to your car and go to leave, if their "trick" of making you drive down with the idea you'll just cave doesn't work, they might change their mind.

Ya never know though, they might just end up wasting your time.

yeah, And 27 otd makes sense, 28 before taxes and title and whatever is crazy, might as well go buy a brand new 2013 like ya said before, plus we are almost to the 2014s being out and sold, so you could even get a steal on a 2013!

I did with my 2011, got it right before the 2012s came out, and got an insane deal so they could get it off the lot.

I beat I could get a base 13 for 28 otd in march hmmm but honestly I'm changing the hood instantly and eventually will add halos so the 13 unless its a insane deal wouldn't make sense since I'd be changing what they changed lol
My plan tomorrow il go to dealer at 9am work numbers if I like it il come home return car to stock then go back. Not going to do it prior and end up not getting it they haven't emailed me back!

Do the hour drive to show you are serious BUT, get a good enough price on it before test driving....act like your a little interested and then drop it on em! If they don't take it then very quickly tell them thank you and immediately leave, if they want it sold they will be chasing you down or calling you with a better offer.
