New to me car and some qustions

Well picked up 2011 5.0 6mt black on black premium with comfort package 40k miles new tires 22.5 otd 10 hr drive round trip

Questions is tint hard to remove ? The rear widow is pitch black and can't see a damn thing really bad especially when new to manual.

Funny story soon as I hit on ramp was out in middle of no where on highway alone I hit gas to hard on accident is the truth and whole car went sideways . Scary as crap but I learned my lesson just need to be careful hell it's my first v8. But all I can say is wow like damn I dnt miss my v6 lol

Congrats, nice ride! Just have a tint shop remove/change it. Its cheap and if youre getting new tint, they may pull the old stuff for free. My local shop did. And squeeze the throttle, no stomping! lol

When my dad had his 88 GT he got a ticket for tint and decided to take it off (Lives in Cali, so there is almost no legal tint here). He said it was such a pain in the ***. This was of course before i was born because he rolled it when i was like 2 or 3 so taking off tint procedures may have changed by now lol.

They will only pull you over for tint on side windows. Nice car, glad you finally found a good deal.

Congrats on the car, it looks stock and unmolested. So that's a good start as far as removing the tint, since your new at it DO NOT attempt to remove on your own. If u haven't noticed yet its a PITA just to clean the rear window I would hate to imagine removing the tint, u will definitely ruin the defrost and have to change the window if doing on your own. In cold weather it's even riskier, tint installers know what their doing... They might charge u more but it's worth it, do u plan on doing a lighter tint?? I personally have 35% all around, I don't like super dark tint, light tjnt make the car look cleaner IMHO

No, but you gotta have pretty dark rear tint to get pulled over unless youve got really bored cops where you live.

Here the cop has to be able to see his partner wave his hand on opposite side with Windows up. They claim It's for safety reasons, yet you can't even see in a police car.

The lower the percentage the darker it is... If that makes sense :-p just think the opposite. Like super dark limo tint is 5% I think from factory we a a super light tint like 80 or 90% I think

You put the trash bag on the inside of the window so it traps the heat from the sun and melts the glue. Makes it easier to pull off.

The percentage stands for how much light it lets in. That's why the lower the number the darker, 15% lets 15% of the light in.

Welcome to TintLaws.com
interesting they list Ohio as 50% but where I live I looked it up locally with my county and they said 35%...

can it change by county? Can you get in trouble for driving into a different state that requires a lighter tint than what you did?

I am on the verge of a few months out to moving to Kentucky with allows 35% as I checked that, but if I drive into ohio since it will be right there, and let's say it really is 50%, can they do anything too you?

I know, it isn't even worth doing. 35% doesn't even feel like enough but at least worth it.

Yeah 20% all around on my truck and it's pretty good. It's not legal for the front windows but it's not that far from 35% that it's that noticeable. I've never had any problems. Plus it's not so dark that I can't see to turn or back up.

Yeah, where I live the cops started impounding cars for having 20" or larger rims. Not that it worked out well for them with all the lawsuits, but they try crap all the time. Since my car is already rediculously loud both from looks and sound standpoint I'd rather not push it with tint too.

How can they impound a Car for having 20" Rims? What grounds are rims 20" illegal?

I guess I'm a criminal on the lam ridin' dirty on 20's lol.

Whaaatttt?! I've never heard of rim size mattering I mean besides on a truck being too tall. And then they still aren't allowed to impound it, they have to give an inspection ticket. A lot of my truck is illegal and I haven't had any problems here, although I do know plenty of people that have, the cops must not be as bad here. I wouldn't wanna push it either, especially if they illegally impound cars. Those towing guys can be rough sometimes too.

Cincinatti Impounding Cars With Big “Donk” Rims | Breaking News for Black America

start of the article: CINCINNATI-Police in Cincinnati, Ohio are impounding cars with rims 20 inches or bigger citing a safety law. These rims known as “donks” are popular in African American communities down south and this can be seen as another form of racial profiling and harassment of African Americans by police. Auto Guide reports:

most of the cars they impounded I have seen before. Not my style of cars but they look nice. There were some cars with 30+ inch rims, but some nice cars from the 80s onward with 20-22 inch rims that were getting impounded.

Welcome to Cincinnati, one very corrupt place.

also watch the video, the woman cop is an outright idiot when it comes to cars. Apparently doesn't understand mechanics...

I know the shop that did most of the 30+" rim cars and they also work on the majority of the wealthy peoples lambos and ferraris and mazeratis too. Very well respected place.

ALSO SORRY FOR THE DERAIL, WASN't INTENTIONAL
