math here makes someone madly wrong. McQueen listing his at the time means his VIN shows 138100. Ratraget shows 120,525 and both are 2013 models.

if you subtract 200,000 from them they become negative.

someone isn't right here. Just saying.

The vin sequence has to do with options and models made within a factory. You could have a v6 ending in 100345 and a 5.0 ending in 100346. The only time a vin relates to production number is when it is an extremely limited number. This is way look at the numbers of gts produced and sold each model year. There is no way that they sellupwards of 100000 gts much less mustangs in general.

I'm gonna go with what he says, not like we're driving around in the everyday Honda civics.

218615. I guess mine was 18,615. I got it last May. Though that seems high to me for a new model year production number.

I don't think that is right. We have 2013 models with vins starting with 1 and not 2.

Someone here is wrong.

412 would make sense in my car since i was practically first in the nation to get my stang, even though it was sent from michigan to Florida...anyone here got their stang before April 4th?

Yes but from the vin number stand point it doesn't make any sense.

I think it just cool how i bought it technically on the 4/4/12 and its ends 0412.
Doing a bumper number decal 412 is tooo cheezy right?

Why can't it be so easy like it was in the 60s. They had how many cars were in your color, body style, transmission, options and year.
Didn't seem to be any guessing.
Websites I've seen just tell me what the car is,
Well I'm driving, so already know what it has...lol

Mine is 1ZVBP8CF6D5218615. Not sure why it's different.

he has a 13.

I don't think this vin stuff for production numbers is accurate, or they changed it for the 2013 year. It just doesn't make sense.

Nope, 2013. Base GT auto.

my '11 ends with the last six digits being: 101193
So I guess that makes mine # 1193, correct?

That would be correct...basically day two or three of production. Can you identify if any issues are known as many asked about this on the thread. I would be curious what date of your build was...should be on the vin sticker inside drivers door jamb.....I would guess around Feb or Mar 2010.

I bought the car in July of 2011. It was a Ford Factory Exec car with 22K on the clock. When I test drove it, the clutch did not seem right. Turns out there was a recall notice out on the clutch and when they performed that service they noticed 2 bolts were broken. They installed a completely new clutch and I have had not issues since- car currently has 35K on it. I did notice a small "grind" going from first to second gear (particularly when cold) when I got the car, but I installed a Barton shifter and bracket and since then do not notice this anymore. Sticker on door jamb says 03/10.

It grinds for me in 2nd but 3rd is the worst roughest grind I hear every time I drive it in winter.
