The last six numbers of your vin represent the numerical production on your car less 100,000. For example my VIN is 135922 making mine 35,922 of the production year. So WHO has the earliest model for production year 2011?
Wow.... The plant kicks out approx 680 Mustangs per day so for 2011 there were 68,659 or 101 build days. That means yours rolled off the line around the 6th or 7th build day. Mine was rolled out around the 52nd day or right about half way.

The vin sequence has to do with options and models made within a factory. You could have a v6 ending in 100345 and a 5.0 ending in 100346. The only time a vin relates to production number is when it is an extremely limited number. This is way look at the numbers of gts produced and sold each model year. There is no way that they sellupwards of 100000 gts much less mustangs in general.
412 would make sense in my car since i was practically first in the nation to get my stang, even though it was sent from michigan to Florida...anyone here got their stang before April 4th?
Why can't it be so easy like it was in the 60s. They had how many cars were in your color, body style, transmission, options and year.
Didn't seem to be any guessing.
Websites I've seen just tell me what the car is,
Well I'm driving, so already know what it has...lol
That would be correct...basically day two or three of production. Can you identify if any issues are known as many asked about this on the thread. I would be curious what date of your build was...should be on the vin sticker inside drivers door jamb.....I would guess around Feb or Mar 2010.
I bought the car in July of 2011. It was a Ford Factory Exec car with 22K on the clock. When I test drove it, the clutch did not seem right. Turns out there was a recall notice out on the clutch and when they performed that service they noticed 2 bolts were broken. They installed a completely new clutch and I have had not issues since- car currently has 35K on it. I did notice a small "grind" going from first to second gear (particularly when cold) when I got the car, but I installed a Barton shifter and bracket and since then do not notice this anymore. Sticker on door jamb says 03/10.
It grinds for me in 2nd but 3rd is the worst roughest grind I hear every time I drive it in winter.
