Skip those gears with your auto. Your car won't be any faster. Here is a good thread we have going on another site. Proof you can go pretty fast with 3.15's in an auto.

And forget those shorty headers. Waste of money.

Good advice thanks. I don't mind the 3.15.

If you're really looking into a supercharger at some point the Roush one is well put together.
Roush TVS + VMP tune + a good tire is a recipe for mid to low 10's with a tire. All on 3.15's and great gas mileage.

It won't be as noticeable with 3.55, go with 3.73 since you said you will go FI

Any first hand experience with this or are you just "winging" it?

I've already shown him he can go fast with his 3.15's. I can get him into the low 11.00's N/A with a 3.31. Gears are not needed with these 11+ autos.

So then no you don't have an 2011 up meaning you have no clue what the gears are in the 6R80. It's not the same thing.

Don't give out advice unless you have a clue as to what you're talking about. I'm sure the original poster wants to see actual facts and experience.

I think I will stay with the 3.15 gears for now. Maybe we will see later. It not something I new to have. My main goal here is to get it ready for a charger. It is my dd for now but once paid off I will be a project. I will be open to test gears out down the road and see what exactly works for me. These mods that are listed are something I thought would be great but I want to knock out the expensive ones first like suspension, wheels, tire brakes and then go supercharge so by that time I do get the charger I'm ready.

That car runs nitrous. Plus that car had gears in it as soon as these cars were released before any of us did any actual testing.

---------- Post added at 03:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:19 PM ----------

No nitrous and no power adder.

It's cool with the gears I like the opinions i understand both sides but its not all that important to me. Like I said maybe down the road when everything is done I will test different gears out and see works best for me.

The thing is there is testing already done with gears on the autos and they're proving to be worth next to nothing. Now a converter makes a significant difference.

What do you want to know? Currently the only one available is Circle D but it's a billet unit and expensive. Still a very nice piece. A new one is being tested now though and the results are impressive and it will be more cost effective.
A link to a thread from 2010 about a discussion on the manual transmission and gears? Plus the majority of the guys there are totally clueless and frankly complete morons. Keep trying though.

What are your goals for the car? Intended use? I like the BMR stuff and have had great luck with it. For tires I'll be running these.

Just how people do better times with them and improvements. And from people that use them locally.

You know I don't know to much about converters . What's the point of them. I basically want a car the is beast and has major power but can still handle well. I also want to start hitting up race courses. For my own personal enjoyment lol. Those tire are sick by the way I do also want to get into drag racing too.

My understanding is that they amplify the power of the car for the initial launch of the car when going from a dead stop and then allow you to keep the high end MPH and pull of the gears after the initial launch.

GB, why did you suggest the roush?

Are you PD over centri in general or just this model?

Why Not a centri in his case and does it have anything to do with being an auto?

There's nothing wrong with a centrifugal blower. I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other. Here is one of several passes made by Rebecca Starkey, wife of Justin Starkey. He is the owner of VMP and has these autos nailed down perfect. He also used to work for SCT. But my point is with minimal mods other than the Roush blower itself it flat out works with perfect driveability.

Cool list, would think about the gears, and the trans setup. Not sure what they recomend for the Auto trans / Gears upgrade. How is the 13 Auto Trans, I have never driven one but I am relly currious about the (step Shifter / Paddle Shift) how's the response? Welcome to the 13 Club as well.

The Cobra Jet intake will cost $2000 in parts, will lose significant power down low where 99% of us operate, and require shift points in the neighborhood of 8000.

I think everyone needs to stop thinking about it. It will not be for the majority of us.

I love it I don't shift it very often but I do place in sport mode when I go hard and it amazing. I love to drive manual but I would trade this auto trans for anything IMO.

Idk we will see. What ever supercharger set I chose will be in about 4 years and there will be a lot more information on current and new parts that come out. So I will do some research during the years and find out what works best. Thanks GB for your help and opinions
