So if I buy new rims and tires. And I put my original tpms in the new rims and tires. It do I have to spend the $100 to get new ones. I prefer not to have a sensor on if I don't install them. I have a 2012.
Your original tpms sensors will work in your new rims. I've got two sets of wheels, they all have tpms sensors and when I swap back and forth, they automatically sync up which makes transitioning from my drift wheels to my street wheels headache free.
Btw, it's gonna cost you almost as much as new sensors cost to remove your old sensors and install them into your new rims.
Just takes a torx10.. Then you need a valve stem puller to pull the stem though.. Lube it up really well and it might not break.. Sometimes they break sometimes they don't.. nothin you can do about it but that part is cheap. Just don't break ur sensor!
