What brand did you go with? I was looking at yellow fog light bulbs for a while... purchased Hella fog bulbs, but they are in the wrong wattage.

... and why are yellow fog lights illegal in the USA?

An option to consider for the future: Going HID with a >4000k bulb will give way more lighting power and the yellow colour with clear lenses.

i've always been a bit light-nutty on my vehicles...I'll never reduce output in any way and I am always seeking to improve lighting power. What you can do these days with modern tech is a monumental step from the "European headlight conversions" we did back in the 80s.
