Need some help

Ok, I've been reviewing my parts list that I am planning on getting here in a few weeks. Now for the questions that I have: 1) I know there are mixed feelings about a 90mm TB. So why would I restrict myself at 85mm with a drive by wire system? 2) I was looking at 1 7/8" Headers to couple with that 90mm TB, but seems like the majority in here are recommending 1 3/4" headers. Why not open the passages all the through the system? I know some back pressure is good, which is why I was going to get high flow cats with the Headers..... Anyone have any concrete answers for this dilemma? Please don't post your opinions based off what you heard from your third cousins exGFs Dads brother.... Just need answers!

They say that 7/8" headers are harder to fit and that unless you're doing big whp they wont make a difference.

I can understand that it may be more difficult to install, but really on these 5.0's you have to lift the motor slightly anyways, once that happens it shouldn't be too difficult at that point right? I am under the impression that the larger the system, the more volume of flow, and when I couple the 90mm TB and the 1 7/8" headers with the Boss Intake Manifold and eventually more aggressive cams, that the larger size would be more beneficial. I have been reading that Forced Induction is the only reason to go that big on either, but N/A engines need to breathe properly as well and why limit yourself, especially if I do get a procharger in another year or so.....

1 7/8 headers are not harder to fit, I've installed both and each one was a PITA to install. Stay away with the 90mm TB as well, search the forums a bit or talk to your tuner and ask what they think, unless its a tuner who just wants to sell you something they'll tell you its useless. Bigger doesn't always mean better, especially when it comes with the intake portion of these cars. Your tuner is your friend, you should ask these questions to the tuner. I like stainless works headers, install was easy as the fitment was great.

At your power level, 1 3/4" is just fine, 1 7/8" is really only necessary on high hp/boosted applications. You won't see any gains with the extra 1/8" under about 800 hp on these cars
