Recaro Seats

If I didn't get the Recaro seat option but I want to install the same Recaro seats for a reasonable price. I looked on the FRPP site but they sell them as singles for 3199.99 which is outrageous. Any suggestions?

Is that with leather? The cloth Ford Racing ones usually run about $2,600 for the pair.

That's ridiculous why do they go so high. I want the one piece harness seat like that but I don't like the way the ones that AM have look in the car. I think the Recaro seats go well with the car.

Try cipheraoto.com. They sell some pretty cool seats for a reasonable price. Yes you have to buy seat mounts also but the most expensive they sell are around $750 for a pair. Then a couple of hundred for brackets. Still cheaper than Recaro's. Then you can add harnesses and the brace behind the seats if you want. I think if you get everything it's only around $1300. Thinking about it myself as a future mod. Just gotta decide if I'm willing to give up my heated seats.

Doesn't look like it. Check the site and see. I didn't look too far into it as this will not be something I will be doing anytime soon. Too many other mods I want to do first.

No problem. I actually stumbled across them on Facebook somehow. Don't remember. The set up in the pics is pretty sweet looking.

Side impact airbag along edge of seat is what he's asking. My guess would be you'd have an airbag light "on" in the dash.

The Ford Racing Recaro seats have side airbags, right? If so, then that is one reason they are so expensive.

I dont think they do? Even if so I still dont think that $3200 per is merited.

What? What about the air bag sensors? Mostly for the passenger seat. What about electronic seat controls?

FRPP recaros do come with airbags. I "borrowed" these images from the AM site and circled the "airbag" tag in each image.

They are always manuals, regardless of whether ordered as a factory option or bought separately.

Well, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Just keep in mind that you are comparing top tier racing seats to off brand garbage. Compare that price to normal Recaros, or other top tier brands such as Sparco and you will see that it's spot on. Sure, you can get some cheap *** seats elsewhere, but you're getting what you pay for. Even the Corbeau reclining seats (which aren't cheap either) have had several documented cases of breakage.

What's the cheapest you can find the recaros?

The only thing keeping me back from getting sparco or other brand is the airbag sensor, that is an important feature I don't want to get rid of, so I will keep on saving or wait for a good deal to buy the FRPP seats.

Are you talking about the bladder in the passenger seat, or the side airbag connection? Both are easy problems to resolve and have been discussed thoroughly.

I am talking about all the sensors that my stock seats have now.
Wow really? I never seen anyone do it, I called 2 shops and they all said it couldn't get done.
Where can I find info on doing it.

Well that could refer to a couple things... there are seat position sensors that are mounted on the rails, there is an occupancy sensor that is placed between the foam and seat cover of the passenger seat, and there are connections for the side air-bags. I've seen multiple write ups around the different forums, just go search for them. I know devildog did one a year or so ago and posted it on here and S197 iirc.

Plenty of people have ... I wouldn't get any of their reclining seats due to multiple reports of them failing on the track and street, but then again I don't think I would spend money on reclining "racing" seats anyways.

Like most said they are expensive because they are the stock equivalents and have the side airbags. None of the recaros from the factory are powered, only manual. Exact reason I made sure when I got my car they had the recaros because I didn't wanna pay $2600 compared to 1600 from the factory and have something different then saying recaro.

I sure would have gotten them if they were offered in 2011!

Same. I always keep a look out for some poor soul selling them. Never seems to happen. With good reason.
