Warranty and axleback exhaust

New member here. Just purchased 2014 GT and I am looking to take the axleback plunge. I am attending a new car clinic at my dealership tonight and plan to inquire as to any warranty implications related to axleback mod. Appreciate any advice or insight for my back pocket is appreciated.

Also, I am leaning towards Borla S or Corsa Sport based on sound clips from all the mainstream contenders. Appreciate insight into any issues with those two.

If you're gona go that expensive just get ford racing cause it's the same as borla, exact same, but with a cooler tip emblem and you can say you've got 100% ford parts!

Borla or FRPP. The dealer could care less about that mod so your warranty will be fine.

Nice choice!! Honestly if I had a new 5.0 or GT500 as much I could I wouldn't let anything but Ford Racing parts touch it! Unless Ford Racing doesn't make it

FRPP is not Ford so technically it's no better for warranty than any other brand. Although axle backs won't be a problem unless your dealer is a ******. Or the axlebacks are welded shut.

Ford racing is a licensed member of ford motor company. And make the best and most durable parts you can find

I agree, however they have a separate warranty for their parts.

If you got an FRPP tuner and you blow your engine it won't be covered under your cars warranty.

The same? Uh no, flowmaster makes the frpp mufflers not Borla. BIG difference.

I mean they're a "member" of FoMoCo but no you can't retain warranty with anything more than an x-pipe or axle back from them so yes their relationship with FoMoCo is kinda borderline I will say

So I spoke with the dealer, no warranty implications for axelback. Engine and ECU mods is another.

I find it hard to believe Flowmaster vice borla makes the FRPP sport. It does not sound like anything flowmaster that I have hear.

Appreciate the replys!

That's cause he doesn't know what he's talking about, Borla makes the exhausts for Ford Racing

My mistake! I thot y'all were referring to stock gt500 mufflers. I read that flowmaster makes them. Good luck choosing. I had Borla Ataks for 7 mos & loved them. Great quality.

I've got Roush on mine. The great thing about those is they sound nasty and are offered as an OE option.

With the axle -backs i believe its all personal perference on sound, I find that the borla - s types are a little louder then the gt500 mufflers.

Ford racing may be better in some things but certainly not when it comes to turners. There are FAR better turners out there then the Ford Racing Pro Cal turner and theres numbers to prove it buts thats a whole different story...

Well you get into durability vs sacrificing durability and peace of mind for HP

you mean tuner?

I don't think we were compairing the older GT500 mufflers to the Borlas. He is talking about these,

Ford Racing Sport Mustang Axle-Back (2011-2013 GT) M-5230-MGTLA - Free Shipping!

which you can tell are made by Borla just by looking at them.

not necessarily, a good majority of guys over on the mustang source forums and im sure on here to run bama tunes such as the 93 street and race tune which are more aggressive then the ford tune but still on the conservative and safe side, no where near unreliable or not durable. Have yet to see a engine blown because of a bama tune or an unhappy customer...

haha wow yes i meant TUNER long long day .. tax season is getting the best of me

Yea they may all sound better to You
But they also sound the Cha Ching$ Alarm to law Enforcement

Having personally having lets say some Fun in my GT in areas
that are not so Fun Friendly

I was very relieved that the GT muffs are SO QUIET
that NOBODY can hear you having Fun

Meaning had i had any kind of aftermarket axleback
Iam sure I would be making numerous donations to lets say state
revenue collectors.

If aftermarket Axlebacks really dont make any Hp
over stock GT Axlebacks on a bone stock GT
Then whats the Point ?

The sound of NOT paying any tickets
is the best sound around

I'm just saying if I were to but a $40k loaded out 5.0 right now and wanted a tuner then nothing would be put in it except a Ford Racing which has OEM reliability, durability, and drivability!

uhm, mine are illegally loud and break sound levels that cause hearing loss and I have never had a cop pull me over for the sound. Not once. I drive her normal around cops. No babying it, no staying low RPMs.

Just because where you live is that way doesn't mean it is for everyone.

Also the louder sound just gives you smiles everytime you drive. Girls look at the car in amazement. Little kids jump for joy. Camaro drivers get mad there cars sound like crap. Challengers the few I even see anymore hate my car sounds deeper and meaner than their 6.2L engine.

Corvettes get mad my car sounds better. Cops gives me thumbs up. Need I go on?

I should also note I leave for work at 7A.M. everyday and used to leave at 6A.M. and never once had the neighbors complain and call the police.

People love a good deep muscle car. THey hate ricers with farting tin cans.
