Re-read my list...

You will see Koni str.t mentioned... Those are shocks and struts.

GT500 mounts are mentioned as well. No need for C/C plates if he's not going too extreme.

All those parts that I listed are what's needed for a good setup. Again, I said good, not excellent. If he goes with the Koni str.t shocks, gt500 mounts, and BMR for all the remaining items I mentioned, that will run right about $1200 in parts. BMR makes good stuff. Yes, there are better and more expensive options, but they are not needed for most people on here.

Well after a long conversation with mustang friend this is what il do News rims New hood And xpipe Instead of spending 400 on covers il try to use ford engine blue for now and later on when funds are available il do covers if need be but I think it's money better spent on hood 3in cowl

Rims. Since your car isn't for racing I would say appearance especially since you have been adding a lot of cosmetics anyway. Finish it up with the rims for sure.

There is no way that will be under 3k. It'll cost more to paint the hood then the hood itself. And if you planning on getting rims and tires, unless your getting cheap cast rims and cheap tires, you'll be looking at 2500-3k alone for that. 1500 will get you cheap rims and entry level tires.

I would either do your suspension, or get good rims and tires for 2500-3k.

For what 90 percent of what people use mustangs for, 1200 will get you a killer suspension set up. 90 percent of mustang owners won't need adjustable shocks, third links ect... I think everyone needs to stop pretending like they race professionally.

RTR rims and nt555 tires on LMR for 2K. RTR rims plus wider mickey Thompson street comp tires for about 2200 on AM.

Cervinis paints their 550 dollar hoods for 350-400 depending on the color. Which isn't bad really.

I do agree though, no way it is costing 2K. Even when I looked at cheapest wheel options on AM it was still 1700ish after all the required stuff.

LIKE YOUR POST ABOVE THIS ONE.

I was trying to say it will COST more than $1200 for a good suspension.

I see a lot of parts on that listed but no price.

My suspension is far from the best and it was well over $2000. But my pinion angle is good and my C/C are correct.

Yeah I am gonna be near 2K in parts once I get the UCA and bracket. I got my LCA in today and had the relo brackets come in yesterday. Installing these bad boys soon as I pick up a 22mm wrench!

Ive been a mechanic on various aircraft and automobiles for over ten years and consider my knowledge on autos to be well above average, but after following this thread since it started I have come to the conclusion I am an ignorant tard when it comes to how important suspension is especially when going forced induction. I was saving for forged internals and a new tranny but now I'm spending money on suspension before the rest. You know that moment when you realize you're an idiot? Lol just hit me.

Dude you know your money situation why are you asking the forum how to spend it.

If money is hard to come by in that amount that you have, Spend it on the parts that you want, WHICH cost the most. and them get the other cheaper parts later.

Suspension was that first thing I did on my car. It took about 2 months as I'm still learning about mustangs. The stock suspension was so bad for me I did not drive the car much until it was changed out. I felt the car sat TOO high.

And I bet you turn those interstate corners like a champ. My point is, 1200 will get everything you need to lower your car correctly and get all of the performance enhancement you need, unless you're a competitive racer, which I doubt you are. Cheap rims on the other hand can have some serious problems that can effect normal driving.

I'm not saying spending that much on suspension is wrong. But you really consider you audience when giving advice like that.

Dude why don't you post the price of what every thing will cost.

You really think all the parts you listed will cost just $1200? REALLY. Plus labor if hes not doing it him self, Which I don't think he will. Did you think about that.

post the f price or stfu.

Brothers performance has a package for 540. It includes koni shocks and struts, gt500 mounts and steeda sport springs. That's more than you need to race to work and back jack&@&.

Thank you!! That was the first point I made. 90% of people here don't live on a drag strip or track, and don't need so much stuff.

Nice attitude...

Anyways, I was the one that originally said you could get those parts for roughly $1200 + whatever the cost of springs that you choose.

Here are the prices that I have been quoted. I can't give you the link, as they are not a vendor on here, but you can pm if you really want to know where you can get it. Or you can look on AM's website, they will be slightly more expensive.

Anyways, here you go.

-Koni Str.t shocks and struts: $330.00
-GT500 mounts: $95.00
-BMR adjustable panhard bar): $140.00
-BMR rear LCAs: $140.00
-BMR rear adjustable UCAs: $180.00
-BMR upper control mounts: 150.00
-BMR relocation brackets: $150.00
-Camber bolts: $20.00

Doing the math, that comes out to, you guessed it, $1205.

BMR makes good stuff, so you can't say I chose the cheapest, just to prove a point. There are cheaper alternatives, if you want to spend even less. Now, add whatever springs you wish to that list, and you are still way below $2k in parts. That's pretty much all that people need that like to go to the drag strip.

Spring $200-$300
Labor $600 Shop instal. May be more some places.
Alignment $100

So you leave $1000 out and call it $1200. Ya Its about $2000.

To vik912: I was not being an *** to you. What you said was correct. Your total was $1800.

Installing a suspension is fairly easy to do. Too bad you guys aren't close to me, I'd do all the installs for half the price anyone quotes you. Rack, 600 for spring install? Not trying to question that figure I just didn't know its that expensive. I can't see myself ever trying to charge someone that much, even when my shop finally opens up.

OP, I'm not a huge fan of the AMR wheels. I would rather get the TSW's (lighter and rotary forged) or Avant Gardes maybe RTR. I know a good dealer for those brands

Again...540 for springs, koni's and gt500 mounts. With the install price, that's still under 1200. I noticed you dodged my post.

Why would you pay somebody to install springs? With a compact wrench 2 friends and 4 hrs I had springs, panhard bar, and lca's installed. It's seriously a straight forward install if you just take the time.

Go right ahead and put that alone on your car and drive it around.

Then again why do suspension at all why not just leave it stock.
Hey look on Ebay you may find it cheaper..Anything can be done cheap if you can't afford it. If you can afford it do it right the first time. You just CUT the spring and be done with it D A . And not spend any money at all. You do drive a mustang and so do I, So we can't afford real spots car anyway..

You have Noting to say about Suspension now. It's not my problem you like to half *** everything in life. LOL I'm surprise your not going around and just telling everyone all they have to do to lower there car is to cut the springs.

Wait a minute that is all you really need to do. That's free. That's what you must of done.
