This is what it states on the website:

Application. This Ford Racing shifter and bracket is specifically designed for the use on the 2011-2014 V6, GT and BOSS 302 Mustangs equipped with the MT-82 manual 6-speed transmission. Includes shifter, two post bracket and classic white 6-speed shift knob.

Technical Note. The included shift ball and adapter only fit Mustangs originally equipped with a leather shift knob. Mustangs originally equipped with an aluminum shift knob will be required to reuse it, or install shifter boot part# BR3Z-7277-A.

Actually, that part # is for the actual shift boot. The aluminum shift knobs must have a smaller shift boot attached to them. They do have a pretty long stem coming off the bottom of them.

Also if you have the Aluminum Silver shift knob, you can't use the white one they ship with the shifter. I am ok with that, because I like my metal shift knob. I will update you all after I have it installed.

Ok I had mine installed yesterday and had a little time with it and these are my feelings so far;

1. Getting into reverse is really difficult. I can do it but I dont think my wife can do it anymore.

2. The transmission sounds different. Its much more mechanical sounding in the car now. Meaning I can hear the transmission vibrate through the shifter. Its minimal but it makes it sound really bad ***. I figure its because the bottom bracket is metal now, instead of rubber. So I think the tranny is less isolated.

3. Shifting is nice and it clicks nicely into gear

Would I recommend it to everyone? Hmmm probably not...I guess I am now wondering what the MGW is like.

Sorry to all the Barton fans out there.

Does your transmission sound a little louder on acceleration and deceleration? I just installed mine and it sounds a little louder in the car.

If the noise coming from the Barton shifter is in any way an extension of the noise that the two post shift bracket makes then I can imagine its probably pretty loud. My MGW shifter with bracket is quieter than my stock shifter with Barton 2 post bracket was. But just about anything is an improvement over stock!

Stock is pretty rough. I love my Barton set up though. I may try MGW one day, but I'm perfectly content right now.

Hint to anybody with extra noise, look at all that empty space under the console/ cup holder area... Stuffing it with insulation makes a world of difference
