No I think think u can use someone else's tunes got ur car they have to be made specifically for ur car. As far as the strategy tunes go I'm not too sure how they work!

The X3 has no preloaded tunes. You have to load custom ones on to it. The SF3 version has tunes already on it.

Do NOT run the SCT strategy tune. They're not safe. Just email some of the good popular tuners like Lund, AED, VMP, or Amazon etc etc.

OP, don't take this the wrong way. You really need to do some reading before you buy parts. Someone else's tune will not work unless your ECM code and mods are the same. I'd recommend not using SCT's strategy tunes and like Grabber blue mentioned, find a reputable tuner like VMP, Lund, AED.

You need to make sure your PCM codes are the same, that is the code #'s that are on your PCM (computer ) if they are the same and he had no other tunes on it. It should work.

Can't go wrong with bama IMO. I love their hybrid tune thats what I run on my 3.7 Idk if the gt guys have a different opinion?

Bama is a good choice they do free tunes for life and at $150 bucks aint bad.

You will need tunes based off your PCM code which means you need to purchase tunes.

You won't have the same PCM codes more than likely.

No on the Bama tunes. I said a GOOD tune. And FYI they all give free revisions. Not just Bama.

I've seen a couple of data logs from friends that I've helped out. I'll leave it at that.

They are safer tunes and some don't like that. Lethal and VMP will be better tunes if you want real aggressive.

I like the Bama for street cruising. I plan on picking up lethal tunes by John Lund at some point as a track/drag tune.

All about what you want. Also to note Bama/AM have the best CS ever. Many can attest to this.

I did on mine!! I bought a 2012 GT and put a SCT 93 race tune on it BACK IN July of 2011, had to sell it back in feb of 2012 because of cancer!! I took the tune off and set it back to stock. I bought another new 2012 GT IN June of 2012 , it had the same PCM code so I installed the same tune and its been running great, no problems!! I guess I was just lucky!!!

I break the back wheels out on mine still with the Bama tune. I run their 93 Race tune and have 285 summer tires on all four corners and upgraded suspension.

I dunno what to 100% tell you as I haven't had both. I can tell you if the lethal tunes don't feel a lot stronger I am gonna be mad I wasted 200 bucks.

Yep. I really am. I felt a huge performance jump when I tuned her and she feels plenty fun too me. Had her tuned with Bama for near 12K miles now no issues. 18K miles on the car.

+1

Bama 93 race is an insanely massive improvement over stock. Hybrid is excellent too. But I drag strip'd the race tune.

I originally had the SCT strategy 93 tune... Slightly better than stock but very conservative (and therefor safe). Barely chirped the wheels.

I have a question, will my tuner from my 05 work on my 12gt. I know I'll have to send it in to get it unlocked, can Sct change the pcm# to the new car. Then purchase the Bama tunes.

Leaning the fuel trim (not as simple as it sounds) will net huge gains. AM is not the best tuner option at all, but with experience you will understand. Many who run BAMA have never used another tuner or used a shotty tooner. However, bama is actually a good tune to start out with, if you have experience, particularly with the coyote engine, you'll understand there is much room for improvement.

So your saying. Bama is good but not good enough , so for a daily driver who still wants to chirp second gear every now and then and not have issues in 20k miles because of a hardcore tune , your saying there is something better then bama? Please elaborate

After installing my 93 Race Tune, and little extras i had to send in for retuned, I took mine in to House of Boost and put it on a Dyno and they did alittle adjustments and picked up around 10 more horses!! So it was a good base start. And after all other tunes for add ons, the Dyno tune did wonders for my car!!!
