Changing oil and was going to use motorcraft filter with royal purple 5w20. Is this a good choice?

Careful, million threads on this... Gonna get yelled at. Lol.

That's what I've done since the first oil change.

Royal Purple, sure. Motorcraft filter, meh - but at least it's not FRAM.

I'd stick with the motorcraft....one of the best rated out there. There are others that are good to use.

Simply search to get recommended filters. We try not to have tons of duplicated posts on the subject!

haha

The Motorcraft Filter is one of the best on the market. As I say, Ford wouldn't intentionally put their name on something that would cause your car to explode. Keep the filter fresh and you shouldn't have any issues.

They used to put the BP logo on the inside of the fuel door.

Motorcraft filter isn't bad - but it's not designed for the drain intervals supported by true synthetic oils. If you're not running your oil out to at least 10k miles and running a filter designed for sure use, you're really wasting your money buying something like RP, AMSOil, or Redline over the other "synthetics" that are made from group III base stocks.
