If you can get 16-17 for your v6 I would sell out and get a used 13 and newer.

I think it would be hard to get 16 or 17 for mine. especially after I save up for a 5.0

Turbo = $6, 000 not installed

Install = $1, 100-1, 500 at an Okay shop, not great. Steeda will charge $2, 200 (called them)

Internals = $2, 500-3, 000 (livernois)

Install = $2, 600 or $3, 100 at steeda

Total cost = $11, 200 minimum.

Reference: experience and phone calls.

Dude. If someone wants a car as fast as a 5.0 then just buy a freaking 5.0. Or how about love your v6 for what it is. Its a freaking awesome 305 stock HP sports like coupe that kicks butt. If you want a dog don't freaking buy a cat and put dog ears on it. Its still a cat. Just buy a 5.0 and be done with it. Sleeper car my a$$ crack. Pull the darn 5.0 badges off, if you want a sleeper car. What kind of crazy stuff is this. Lmao.

When I had enough money to buy FI for my v6 Stang I used it as a down payment on the 5.0 instead. And I had spent a LOT on the 6. Best decision I ever made.

This, the v6 is not exactly a slouch and with some bolt ons you'll be walking plenty of v8s out there

I used to have a v6 camaro. I spent many hours on the v6 boards, and saw many people who spent loads of money making their v6 faster, even putting superchargers and turbos on them, and many ended up trading in for v8s in the end anyway even after dumping thousands into FI systems. Why did they do it? Because they wanted the v8, and the sound and experience that comes with it, and the FI v6 wasn't fulfilling that despite their impressive numbers. So in my opinion, speed isn't always the only thing to consider in this all too common debate.

So you need to ask yourself: do I want a fast car, or do I want a v8? Just my 2 cents...

That's the first smart thing I've read on this thread. Be happy with what your parents bought you instead of slapping them in the face saying It's not good enough for junior. I bet you were proud of that v6 ( and you should be ) til you got on a fourm and now you feel less of a man. If mon & dad are like most Americans, they had to make sacrifices to get you the car, so respect it. Worry about your education and not what you drive, when you graduate you'll be able to buy anything you want. Maybe then you'll be mature enough to appreciate what your parents done for you.

Yep I'm in contracting work, HVAC..I'm an apprentice, making 60k a year full benefits, that's just my apprenticeship, next year when it's done, my yearly salary takes a very very nice hike, plus bonuses, and paid vacation..I am in no way advocating NOT going to college, I'm in college for night time classes when I'm not working to learn more about my field of work. its just in no way how it used to be...many many kids nowadays go to school for the same thing and when they get out they realize there were 250k students that graduated in the country in there field, and only 75k jobs available, do the math.

oh, amen to that brother. The 11plus v6's are no slouch and with 3 to 3.5 k in mods, your will be running low to mid 13's 1/4 mile all day long.

Ok... So what year are you in your appr? Just curious... I was sprinkler fitter apprentice (highest paid of all skill trades) and made nowhere near 60k. But now I work at ford motor co. In sharonville, benifits are great and pay isn't too shabby either.
As for the v6, enjoy it bro, I wish my parents bought me a v6 or any car haha it could always be worse

Putting a V8 into a VIN'd V6 would kill your investment when it was time to trade in...and you will trade it in some day. Remove as much of the goodies you've installed, and either sell them, or install them on your purchased V8.

Put some serious thought into the purchase of your next car. It's alot of fun to modify a ride, but there comes a point in which you're tossing money away foolishly, especially when you have not had the vehicle very long, and are wanting a newer, more potent ride.

BETTER OPTION: wait for the next gen Mustang to come out and then make your decision.

Ya know I thought long and hard on that. I pritty much had 2 years to decide on a car but was just completely unsure what I should get: eather a new 5.0 or temi. Pritty much only reason I got a 5.0 was newer technology, more comfort and just as fast without having to add a blower yet. Now I'm not saying I don't see a Kenny bell in the future but it's just what came down to it the 04s are going to be 10 years old

For me too it also wasn't a lot more for a 5.0 at least where I live. The terminators were selling for a lot. Mainly cause around here they seem rare.

Also like you said a slightly modded N/A 5.0 can take a terminator. A FI 5.0 can destroy a terminator.

People hate when I say it but my favorite body style is hands down the 2010-2012. Second to that is the terminator. Not the 2013-14

I was an hvac apprentice and I made $13/hr and wasn't allowed a second over 40 hours ever. Nowhere near 60k. The guy who was my teacher (38yr senior tech) was claiming to make about 75k a year, which was somewhat believable in the company I worked for.
