Modern Billet Black Grill or Roush Grill

Curious on opinions both are pretty similar but obviously a big price difference. The Modern Billet is on sale for $170 right now top/bottom combo. While Roush is about $400 top/bottom what do you guys think?

When you first take it out of the box and hold it you KNOW you made the right choice. It's very durable and looks amazing. If you want a cheap looking plastic grille then don't chose roush.

I have the modern grill and I am very happy with it. Two days after I installed it I hit an endtable that was laying upside down in the middle of the highway doing 75 mph. The grill was bent slightly. I bent it back straight and it looks fine. No paint problems at all. I think it is pretty tough.

Now you just need to get an RS3 lower grille and the look will be complete!

ya I like the cdc but the fact that they don't have a lower grill to match at the moment is kind of a factor, also afraid of debris getting in that huge gap just my personal concerns. Lots of construction around me currently.

Hey Joey,

I'm thinking of ordering the same grille. How was the install and where did you order yours from? Was it worth losing the fogs? I'm pretty fond of them but I'm not a fan of the honeycomb. That GT500 look is amazing!

I have the modern retro grill from AM on mine and I've had no peeling or durability issues as of now. And she looks great! The material feels very durable. It's been on there for a while now and I've had no problems at all.

Install was a breeze. The biggest "issue" was removing the fogs and the brackets. Just put firmly on the factory grill and it should pop out. Then you'll have access to the fogs. Unscrew the 3 screws on each fogs and cut out the brackets. I used a small saw. And you also cut the middle plastic bar thingie in the middle. When that's all cut out zip tie the wires out of the way and the CDC performance snaps right into place. Losing the fogs to me wasn't a big deal. The headlights are bright enough for me and I recently put on te gt/Cs lower fog light kit, which I really like appearance wise and I just replaced the bulbs in the fogs with 35 watt 4500k hid kit. They look great.

THIS KIT COULD BE ADAPTED TO A GT TO HAVE THE FOGS IN THE LOWER FASCIA AS WELL.
Search for Ford Part No: DR3Z-15200-AA. That's the fog light kit. The hid kit I got from ddmtuning.com. Go to his kits and select 35watt 4500k if you want it close to the factory headlights and I also got the mounting brackets.

I think it's the parts or replacement parts not sure. Search the part number on google and it should come up. I think it's like 140 shipped. Remember though you have to either solder the wires or buy taps to tap isn't the wires which were originally plugged into the grill fog lights. I solder them and it was a breeze and I never really solder much before. As far as the hid light output it's not terrible but it's certainly not like the grill fogs. I'm happy with it. I'm about to run to target so ill take a few pics to show you

I would appreciate it! I found the fog kit on partscheap.com for $120. Here's the link: 2013-2014 Ford Mustang OEM Fog Lights

As far as the HID kit, I found it, but I'm not sure what type bulb to get. Any idea? Here's the link to that as well: DDM Tuning 35W and 55W HID Kits

Sweet deal. I really appreciate the insight on this. How long did it take to do the whole install on those fogs? And you added the mounting brackets for $2.99?

I don't have any jacks or jack stands so it was a ***** to get under the car and unscrew and screw it the fog light housings. So it took me about 3 hours. But with a lift or stands it shouldn't take you anymore then an hour or so once you have the grill and fogs removed. And yeah the brackets were 2.99 it's a little metal piece that goes on the back of the ballast so you can mount it. I mounted it using the top left screw to the fog ligjts. You'll see what I mean when you get it.

Alrighty. Here on base we've got access to the auto hobby shop with jacks and stands and all that so i'd just throw it up on one of their lifts and get it done. Think you could snap a shot for me from the drivers seat of the view when the fogs are on?

You sold me! I'm gonna order the kit and try to do the install when i put the roush high flow upper grille on. I think I'm also going to go ahead and remove the stock honeycomb that's on the lower and leave it off for a while until i decide whether or not I want to order that roush lower. What i really want is the open lower that's on the stage 3 cars

Oh my bad. What I am trying to see is how far the fogs actually throw. See my picture? That is after silverstar ultras. If the HIDs can't throw further I don't see a point in upgrading. Thanks.

Hmm idk good question. I heard as they get bluer then the light output gets less and less efficient.

Hmm idk good question. I heard as they get bluer then the light output gets less and less efficient.

Yeah I'm trying to stay away from the blue. On DDM's website they have the chart, and the 5000 looks like it is the whitest and that anything above that would be turning blue, just as nosympathy said. The 5000 might be a good option
