Supercharger question

So last night my work brought me to a gentleman house. At said house I notice he has a 2012 GT 500 ( a wicked one at that) anyway we start taking cars. He's telling me all the modifications he has done to it wich included upgrading to a aftermarket supercharger. As I'm wiping the drool from my mouth I tell him I just bought my first Stang a 2012 GT. He asked me if I wanted to supercharge it? My reply of course "Does a beat **** in the woods? Ofcourse I do" and he offered to sell me the stock one that came on his 500. So question number 1 is. Will it fit on my 12 GT? Question 2 what would be a reasonable price?

Doubt it. Different engines.

You could possibly retrofit it with a custom made adapter, but that could get expensive. Then you would have to make a matching intake as well as custom tuning. Not to mention the eaton on the gt500s is far from impressive on those motors and you'd probably suffer from big time heat fade with your high revving 5.0 making the boost it would take to compete with other systems made for the 5.0. You'd have to incorporate a water to air cooling system, and at the end of the day you will have spent all this time and money to put a run of the mil supercharger on your car. Not saying the gt500 supercharger doesn't make good power but the 5.4 is a totally different monster than the 5.0. You need something with a higher flowing design like the tvs2300 if your going roots style, and the cost of a custom set-up far outweighs the off the shelf new price.

Having said that, id say that his used blower is worth probably in the neighborhood of $500-650 provided it has the lower manifold, elbow, and throttle body. If he expected more for any less than that I would walk.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll just pass on it. Seems like a lot of work for a little gain

You can do anything with fabrication. But i would lean toward getting 1 specifically designed for your engine.

No that supercharger will not fit, different head designs.

Check out department of boost if you really want it though. They make lower intake manifolds so you can bolt up stock gt500 superchargers.
