Thanks for the tip

Silicone lube sold at Walmart did wonders for me. I had my stockers off quickly. Was like 4$ for the can. Did that and didn't remove the hangers .

You also don't suffer from being pleasantly plump. I face the challenge of being skinny deficient.

Roush and Borla s-type sound similar from the outside. Why did you decide to skip the o/r x?

I installed a Gibson 409 ss x-pipe from amazon. Cost 260 shipped. The aluminized version is 180 shipped, if you dont have salt. I also put back my stock mufflers. Completely differant sound than the S-types,
more like a whoosh than a gurrgle. Hopefully a good cai will add some character. I cant have a loud exhaust where I live, and the s-types were borderline. With a good tune, I definately feel a power differance over just a tune like I had before. If you ever do exhaust work, soak all the bolts in pb blast overnight, I even had to soak my a/b where they connect to the overaxle pipe. Loosening your h-pipe bolts might help w/ positioning the a/b's. GL

I am trying to decide what exhaust system will work for me. I have a 2014 GT and its a daily driver, I want something that has a rumble to it when i get on it but not two loud. I was thinking about the magnaflow ca8t back street thinking that it may have some growl but not to loud.

What would you all suggest if i am not wanting to go to the extreme?

Frank

Nice! What color did you pick? Also Roush axle back is my favorite. But the borla s types are nice to but expensive, also gt500 mufflers are a tad but louder but IMO not worth it unless your getting x pipe. Post some pics of your car!

Borla or Corsa, only consider the roush if you are NEVER going to get an X pipe ever. Then it sounds like crap.

Sorry for the Nube questions, but what is the advantage of the X pipe. My guess if your just looking for sound and not HP the axel back is good enough. if your wanting HP go with Cat back, but what does X pipe do for you over H pipe. does it make the sound better or does the motor perform better ect.

BTW I appreciate the education.

On the color, I got the "Deep Impact Blue", track package, Premium package.

I plan to get some modest Graphics put on it will post that too.

Nice color choice! I pritty much have the same interior and the track pack, as far as the x pipe is mainly for sound but it does add a tad bit of hp and does help the motor breath a tad better when you have a forced induction

Does anyone have any experience or opinions about the Flowmaster American Thunder Classic Axle-Back? I really want a low grumble exhaust note. I do really like the Roush axle backs, but they seem raspy at higher RPMs...

I know dwc smozilla ran it on his car for a while. Talk to him. I can say that exhaust is loud and raspy.

GT500 vs FRPP Sport axle-back

New to the forum. Am enjoying/learning from the posts. I have had my 2013 GT convertible for two weeks. Axle-backs are first mod. Does anyone know how the FRPP GT500's compare to the FRPP Sport other than the huge difference in cost? Thanks.

Yes, the Both have a low deep rumble and the tone is very similar, but the FRPP sport are much louder, lighter, and IMO the FRPP sport do have a better tone. I have had both and I am still currently running the FRPP sport and would choose then all day every day over the gt500's. I have videos of both, but I only have the GT500's uploaded on my YouTube page

A friend of mine has an 2011 5.0 with the Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back and it sounds extremely good.
