random questions

Im pretty new to all of this tunning and cai. Pretty much everything about the mustang but we all gotta learn some time right? These are my questions
1- does a tune or cai effect the warranty?
2. When people say my gears at 3.7 or 4.10 or something like that what does it mean?
3. Does a tune or cai effect the system computer for an example track apps
4. Does the tune and cai effect the mpg

Sorry for all the questions and thank you so much in advance

1: tune will void warranty
2: the gear # is how many times the drive shaft will turn for 1 rotation of the wheels.
3: Don't understand the ?
4: most tuners claim to get better mpg.

The tune will correct it for you if you change gears.

For a street car I'd go with American Muscles tunes for life. A lot of mods require a tune and they will update it for free. As for the Cai, the stock air box is about as good as it gets on the 11+ models. I like araid cia but its all in what you like the looks of best basically.

Every tuner is basically offering the tunes for life. Go with VMP or Lund, this is what these guys do.

VMP doesn't. They have 6 month support for tune revisions and then they charge you again. That is what is on their website anyway.

I got a revision from VMP a year later and it was free.

These are all good answers. You could also do a search in the forums about tunes, CAIs, etc. to see how other people feel about them, how it effected their rides and so on. There are tones of threads on these subjects. One thing I would echo here that TC X 4 said is that the CAI on the market for 11's and up are just as equal as any CAI. Unless your going for a look, I would save the money and put it towards a different mod. Then again you can always do a search. Tons of info. I know easier to ask, but research man, it will save you money, time, and hassle down the road. Enjoy!

You will always have warranty, doesn't matter even of you put a supercharger and full boltons. However if (or should I say when) something breaks, they can try to say that "This aftermarket thing broke this or that". Even then, they have to prove that it did break that specific part. After full boltons an suspension, I feel like my stang is safer than before now that it has smoother power and ride quality.

American Muscle's Bama Tunes are solid, from what I understand. I am also looking at AED for when I pull the trigger. The guys over at SVTPerformance do nothing but sing their praises.
