You won't have a problem with it fitting. 12mmX1.25mm is the stock shifter thread size.

And no you wont need a new boot.

Well good luck cuz they are on back order everywhere lol. I want to order one too! Late model restoration says 5/27 is when they will be in. AM didnt have a date. My question is...it wont void the warranty in any way by replacing the stock shifter right? I was told ford is more lenient on the mustangs but I have never had a brand new stang where I have had to worry about it.

Basohol had aftermarket shifter and needed his trans replaced. The Ford rep gave him crap about it, but at the end of day, they did fix it. Last I heard he was looking for a stock shifter to throw on if he ever had anymore problems.

Ya its a good idea to keep it around. If you ever trade, you can throw it back on and make a few bucks too.

Exactly why I won't swap out my shifter. My MT82 whines and grinds so I know it's only a matter of time before my ching chong trans ends up in pieces.
