Took me an hour and a half after all the crap you have to do, that's from jacking it up to driving it. The hardest part by far, is the new boot. That and putting the shifter together over the factory shift rod, I kept having a bushing fall out on me. But a dab of grease fixed it.

I installed mine using ramps. So much easier than trying to jack the car up. I was skeptical about getting it but happy I did. Just got done installing it last night and its a night and day difference.

Pics?? ^ Heard the installs are much more complex on the newer trannies than the older tremec's. If I get a newer one it will be my first mod. Im just scared of that mt-82

Don't be scared if it... It's been blown out of proportion, unless your a serious drag racer maybe, but after I got the MGW this thing feels bulletproof now

Man I drive my car silly 90% of the time and I have a 11 with almost 12k (not a DD) and haven't had the slightest trans issue. But at the same time I always took proper peecautions like letting car and trans warm up, changed the fluid, bracket.

Have had my MGW for a little over a month now and my only complaint is going into first gear is still "notchy" like the stock shifter. Any suggestions?

Fifth gear synchro. but I know Ford is going to have them do the oil change first. There is a TSB on the oil and synchro so they know it's bad but they have there chain to go thru.

I get a grind when I quick shift from forth to fifth. Makes me cringe :'( but no questions about the shifter

My first gear pops out once in a while after I depress the clutch pedal...I've adjusted the reverse lockout but still not quite there...had for a month also...

Are you sure you installed it right? I'm not doubting your abilities but it could be misaligned somewhere

It's been 2 weeks since my install, 1st is still notchy but personally I am fine with that. That 1st- 2nd and 2nd-3rd is perfect, and that's what I bought this shifter for anyway.

MGW is just out of my price range. 27% throw reduction agrees with my wallet right now.

Is only like $40 more for the MGW than your setup. Good look though. Sure it will be better than the current setup.

Ok I guess as long as you are happy. I just felt the MGW was to good to not get, but I understand money is important. Wish you well and let us know.
