Running Rich?

Fellow Stang'ers,

Just wondering if any of you have advice on something. I've noticed that I have some noticible carbon buildup on my Borla tips. Not 100% sure if what I have is normal or not. Several days ago, I did notice that when I fired her up, there was some light white smoke coming from both tips (with a rich smell). I shut the motor off and after about 10min; I fired her up again with no smoke this time.

Just wondering if this is "normal" for these motors. I've got an appt with my dealer Thursday just to check things out.

I did purchase her with 8k on the I have no Idea if she is tuned or not. I do, however, always put premium gas in her.

Just looking for some words of advice. Sould I have the dealer check for a tune?
Take care,

Carbon build up on the tips is normal on any car. The stock exhaust filters more of the carbon than those borlas so and that's why you see more carbon build up on aftermarket axlebacks. These cars also heat up the exhaust quick, so you tend to get condensation in the pipes which will steam out the exhaust on start-up. Unless you see a CEL or feel the car acting goofy I really wouldn't put much thought into it. Just get some chrome or metal polish and clean the black off every now and then.

If you are really concerned about it a dyno run would tell you. Probably not a bad idea being that it was used.
