Good thing about plasti dip is if you dont like it, peel it off lol. But im still gonna say no thanks. I think plasti dip is awesome stuff for doing emblems, trim, and even rims, but IMO i dont like it when the whole cars done. Looks ok in pics, but up close.... Whole nother story. To me nothing beats the look of nice dark black gloss paint, im not gonna cover that up with any rattle can.

If you like the look go for though man. Worst case, just peel it off if you dont like it. Sucks to waste that much money though.

If done with a spraygun in a controlled enviro, looks alot better than spray cans in the front yard, my DD a 97 Grand Marquis, looks better in this pic, lol. Smaller things look good, like wings and scoops, accents

Kinda have to agree. I thought a car done completely done in plastidip would look sweet until I saw a Vette and an STS done in it last week. I have my emblems, pony, and medallion done and it looks great but that's as far as I'll take it.

Yup. Me too man. Did my faux cap, pony emblem, and gonna do my 5.0 badges as soon as i get around to ordering a can of the gunmetal grey, but my buddy did his whole truck, and although he did a good job, it just wasn't for me.

Given it didnt look terrible at all, just for me, nothing beats a shiny gloss paint.

Ive seen some of your other threads and IMO if you're trying to win shows, plasti dip is not the way to go. And yes although black is a MAJOR pita to keep clean, when it is clean, it looks so damn good lol. Personally i like the blue except for the roof and maybe the hood. Instead of doing the whole hood blue, what about doing just the vents? I think that would like sick with the way you did the grille.

Thats a sexy hood. That will look great. But yeah i agree, the roof is overkill. If you're going to have an all black hood, and black roof that spoiler may look a bit out of place. I would suggest maybe doing like a blue pinstripe down the sides of the hood scoop just to keep that blue theme with the sides, grille, and spoiler

I'm 32 years old, and the thought of spray painting my brand new $35,000 car just don't seem like a "mature" thing to do...BUT, I am incredibly intrigued by this Plastidip, as its an inexpensive way to get a custom look and if this stuff is completely removable and 100% safe for the paint, I MAY experiment, although it would be something simple, such as flat black accents.

IMO Moto, I like the color blue you have, it's just over done. If you removed all the blue except for your side stripes, it would look much cleaner. Then again an orange side stripe would be cool too if not overdone. But hey, play around with Plastidip and see what you get.

Just like Peterzinyou said, in a controlled environment it can come out pretty good... On my Facebook I have dipyourcar as a LIke and I get all sorts of pics from licensed dipyourcar shops... It'll probably cost more $$ but from what I've seen, $$ isn't much of an issue for u to get the look u want and experiment... So if u find an approved shop I'm sure they can give u the look your wishing for and have the expertise to get it done

Test it first man. Buy a couple rattle cans and just spray an area on the car. If you don't like it, peel it off.

Love the color, but you gotta see it in real live though man. Cameras play tricks on you! Now if that color was an actual gloss paint..... Sick! Love the style of the 2nd pic with the black

I just did my faux gas cap and 3rd brake light (not required and hate it) and I did my exhaust tips too after seeing on dipyourcar.com. First time using plasti dip and this stuff is amazing. I learned though that you really need 4-5 coats to be able to peel off the surrounding area. Over spray wiped right off when dry. I'm doing my whole hood next!!! (Just kidding)
