You can probably make it fit but it'll probably cost a bunch of money. That's coming off a 5.4 and you have a 5.0.

Nope gonna cost you a fortune making it work for the 5.0 and we've had others ask the same thing. Not worth it.

I've heard the Coyote can actually make more power with a blower than the GT500. Is that true?

well depending on which GT500 and it can safetly. The older GT500s werent as high revving as the 5.0 is. Most redlining at 6 and pushing past that was considered dangerous and a ticking time bomb. Where as we can push little over 7000rpm somewhat safetly.

You can push a lot higher than that safely IMO.

you talking our 5.0 engine? honestly that isn't something I looked at. I assume a vortech or procharger with a boss intake could push to 7800RPMish no real trouble.

could a roush/whipple/etc. do so?

It would take a different lower intake manifold as the runners on the heads are different between the 5.0 and the 5.4. Check out departmentofboost.com if you're really serious about making it work. They specialize in making intake manifolds so the GT500 blower will fit on a 4.6, they may have something for the 5.0

Mostly due to the compression ratio, the higher compression of the 5.0 produces more power per psi of boost than the lower compression of the 5.4

What sits on top doesn't have much to do with how high you can rev safely. The issue you run into much over 7500RPM is that the oil pump gear can fail and the valve springs aren't quite heavy enough.

I guess it all depends on what you consider "safe" though.
