Bama tune with aed cam tune?

Is this possible todo? I have a bama tune on my car already and it works great but I want to add a cam tune to it. Is there anyway to do it with out switching to aed tunes?

Why? I like Bamas for the most part minus the way it drives in low RPMs.

I have been debating getting AED tunes and wonder if their can tune drives better.

Bama can write you a lopey idle/ghost cam tune. It's called BamaCam and you have to specifically ask for it.

Because any engine builder who says "Lets make this engine run like **** so it sounds cool" ain't gonna be an engine builder for long. How long has Bama tested this "fake cam" tune for engine damage over long term use?

They don't do it for autos

Hey, so. All I am going to say in response.

The Boss 302, when used with the special track key, can run a cam idle. That is straight from Ford, made by Ford, tuned by Ford, all Ford.

Isn't like Bama is the only one to have a cam idle. Many companies do. The real question is how safe is it for auto cars. many places will make them for anyone with an o/r pipe and manual trans, but very few do for an auto.

Quote:
LOPEY IDLE:
Lopey idle is an industry-first technology that utilizes the Twin Independent Variable
Cam Timing (TiVCT) capability of the Boss 302 engine to make the engine sound and
feel like a race prepped engine. For lopey idle to be enabled, three conditions must first
be satisfied. The first condition is that 130 seconds must have elapsed since the engine
coolant temperature reached 170 °F (77 °C) while the engine is running. The second
condition is that the engine must not currently be idling (Note that it is sufficient just to
rev it up in neutral or drive away once the other conditions have been met and lopey idle
mode will be enabled). The third condition is that there must not be any detected
failures of engine control related sensors or actuators. When all these conditions are
met, the instrument cluster will make a "ding" sound and the message center will display
"TRACKEY IDLE ENABLED". Some early-build 2012 vehicles will display the word
ENGINE in place of the word IDLE. The TracKey software and calibration is identical
regardless of which word is displayed. Like the "TRACKEY ACTIVE TRACK USE
ONLY" message, this message is also persistent and may be dismissed by pressing the
"RESET" button (2012) or "OK" button (2013). Lopey idle will remain enabled until the
next key cycle when all the conditions are checked again. Note that removing the side
exhaust block-off plates results in a significantly more distinctive exhaust note when
lopey idle mode is enabled, but may be too loud for some customers.
just saying...

that is good to hear. The bama one, say when in 5th cruising at 2000 rpm gets a little jumpy/studders some. Which is weird because it isn't supposed to kick up above 1000 rpms.

I'm an old school motor guy and my mentality is why ****** and otherwise cause an engine to run abnormally just for the sound? Maybe it is fine and won't hurt the engine, it just sounds the same as putting ketchup on your pizza. I'd rather put a new cam in.

it is just a neat feature of the TiVCT. It won't hurt anything. Also see above as I edited my post with the release from Ford.

Also, no one runs it for performance. It is mainly run for shows etc. Currently to my knowledge there are no really good loping cams for our cars still.

I'm no expert ... but wouldn't that be rough on your torque converter? It would be like every time you're at a red light standing on the brake and hitting the gas over and over and over.

Yeah which would be terrible. Unless it only would run if you were in neutral? But that kind of defeats the purpose. I think your asking for premature wear just for a sound change with 0 performance gains.

If you get a converter in there, they'll write a cam idle tune for the auto cars. I've been wanting to do it for a while now, just haven't wanted to drop the coin on a stall and a new tune.
