Borla cat back too loud? WTB?

When I got this car last year it had on it a Borla cat back system. 2011 gt 6spd. It may be a bit loud for me. I would like to have the stock mid pipes with the resonators in them I am thinking. Would that make much of a difference to the 'music' level out of the pipes with my foot in it? I just wanna mellow out the bark of this bad dawg coyote. Just a bit. Does anyone have the original set of mid pipes for sale? Just the resonated section.

Your saying you have the borla over the axle pipes? If so you can't just take any set of over the axle pipes. The borla over axle pipes are 3" pipes and the stock over axle are 2.75 and it would probably be easier to get some 3" resonators and having them welded in.

Your mid pipe will only accept 3" pipe and your axle backs will only accept 3" pipe which say me with my mid pipe it goes and accepts a 2.75" over axle pipe and 2.75" axle backs from borla.

You could try getting some of these welded inline.

I think you are gonna want 9" haha. That's probably pretty close to the stock pipes. There is no way they are 16". You could probably weld in 16" though if you wanted.

I sold my Roush axlebacks after getting an offroad X, it was too loud. Not all of us are trying to gain massive amounts of attention. If that's your goal, more power to ya - but some people just want something a bit better than stock without pissing off every driver, pedestrian, and cop within a mile radius of every red light you hit.

the roush was too loud too fast. The borla I have are just as loud at WOT but just normal laid back driving no where near as loud.

Yeah, the Roush cans had no difference between feathering the throttle and WOT. It was nuts. They were great with the stock cats/h though.

I agree. 3K RPMs was as loud as 6K RPMs. Was just annoying.
