maybe I'm just thrown off but that was my car, in 4th (manual) because cincy speed is retarded spooling up to 7300rpm, and it does that way quicker than your car. Like I said guessing because of what gear they ran it in.

Not that it really matters, but the results are still skewed.

I'm going back Monday to get the papers for the dyno, and I should have just wrote manual but I figured you would get it. it was done at blow by racing and they've been there for yeaaaars so I assume they would do it correct but ill figure out what gear they pulled it in on Monday

I mean it really won't matter too much, it is just dyno numbers and yours don't really sound far fetched from your mods at all, but just one of those things that if you were too make any other changes later on down the road and redyno to see the changes made and they run it in 5th that time, your going to end up with badly corrupted data that can make you feel like you either made no improvement, made things worse, etc. depending on what 5th shows for numbers. I know for me 4th produced much lower numbers than 5th. Almost 40HP and 40 TQ difference same day about an hour apart. No idea what 3rd would do haha.

exactly why I made the shop that ran mine in 4th rerun it in 5th. I wanted to have a realistic number to attempt to compare too down the road when I make changes. So like when I add the Boss Mani here shortly I can roughly see how it affected my car. Different day/weather/etc. will still mess with the numbers but I can still see a rough change.

Hopefully they are not running everyone's cars in 3rd . But I seriously think the numbers sound in line. I pulled 411HP with just o/r x and tune/cai.

Probably 4th since it is a little taller than a 1:1 and 5th is a .86:1 I think? I know 5th is less than a 1:1.

Edit:

4th is a 1.14:1 and 5th is a .87:1

You'd just keep accelerating the car like driving on the road until your car shifts into 4th then floor it from there.

Yeah I think you can back off a little to let it get to as low an rpm in 4th as possible then floor it.

V6 gearing is longer than v8 gearing, 4th may be the proper gear for you

Weird, I'd never looked at the specs, 4th gear is shorter but 5th gear is proportionately longer. With that said 5th gear is closer to 1:1 than 4th

EDIT: I thought we were talking about a v6 on a dyno, that's why I was confused lol, either way 5th is still closer than 4th is to 1:1. Dyno in 5th, you want it as close to 1:1 as possible

Except everyone always wants to run them in 4th. I'd actually be interested to see an auto run in 4th and then in 5th and see what the numbers would be like.

The autos get run in 4th gear and it needs to be locked there in a tune to keep it from shifting out.

Why would you run it in 4th if 5th is closer to 1:1? Is it because you don't want to use overdrive gears?

4th gear is 1.14 and 5th is 0.87 so they are essentially even but yes 5th is an overdrive gear and it would be going 180 mph on the dyno and the numbers would really be skewed. Some tuners will actually dyno in 3rd because they cannot lock it in 4th with a tune.

Your 4th and 5th are backwards.
