Sup everyone. Installed frpp short throw today with dual post bracket. Love it. Shifts great no noise or vibration coming through. Great product.

Hahaha. Damn right. As long as it doesnt say Dodge, you know it wont break lol.

Did you put any sound deadening material in? I have just the barton 2-post, and get quite a bit of NVH over the stocker.

Gotcha. Yeah it doesn't really bother me either, but it was definitely noticeable.

I also put the Barton 2post in mine. The starter is louder and there is more gear whine in the first 4 gears, but I like wine... Makes the car a bit more of a bad girl...and it shifts better too.

Thats weird i get the most NVH in 5th gear. But yeah the start up is much louder on mine as well. Sounds cool though haha.

The MGW is about $400 or so, the Barton shifter alone is $250, the Barton 2 post bracket is $105, and the Ford racing shifter comes with the 2 post bracket and the shift know for $469

If the frpp shifter is the same as the Barton.... Well... There should be no warranty issues with the frpp shifter since it is made by ford, right?

Not true.... FRPP parts are not made by Ford. As far as the warranty goes it would be the same as putting on any other brand. Although i have heard people "claim" that their dealer would warranty it, if the dealer installs the part, but i dont trust that. Sounds to me like the dealer is just trying to make money off of you. Your warranty is through Ford, not through the dealer. A basic simple rule to follow, is if you put a NON Ford part on your car, and the problem could be linked to that part, they most likely will not cover it.

I'm not concerned with losing my warranty by any means, I'm ok either way. I know a lot of peeps chime in here looking to keep warrentys and such.. I am a bit confused though about the fact that ford does not make the frpp shifter? I assumed that since the ford name was on the shifter that ford had some claim to the product..

Nope. The frpp shifter and bracket is made by Barton. Most of the frpp parts are made by other companies, frpp just helps distribute them at a markup price and makes a cut from them. Its a common misconception.

There is no Warranty issue with putting in an aftermarket shifter. the shifter itself is not covered, but unless there is a problem directly related to the shifter, which i doubt, it is irrelevant.
When I ordered my car I told the dealer the mods I was planning and they confirm that unless the shifter is the problem there is no problem.
I also suggested to Ford in my exit survey that they either need to use a better shifter in the car or make it an option when you order the car to get a decent shifter.

What your dealer told you is completely irrelevant. They wanted to make a sale. Do you think they were going to tell you no? Like ive said a thousand times, your warranty is through Ford, not the dealer. If your trans blows and the dealer gets ford involved because of the thousands of dollars in parts, they will most likely try and blame it on any aftermarket parts. Plain and simple, if its not a Ford part, its not covered. And if they can prove, or make sense of the fact your aftermarket part had anything to do with the problem they will deny your warranty.

Like it or not, its the honest truth. People may say their dealer said this, and their dealer said that blah blah blah, but all of it is just talk. Give me a real life example. Trust me man, im just as frustrated as you guys are, as im having trouble finding a way around a lot of things. But since i paid 30+k for a car i dont listen to here say.
