nitrous on 2012 gt

Hello new to the forum . i was wondering if anyone on here has sprayed the new coyote . Im thinking seriously about ordering nitrous outlet hardline plate kit with bottle heater, fuel switch ,window switch ,colder plugs , and a dyno tune . if anyone has some insight at all for me please chime in. I know a blower is better but 6k plus just isnt in the budget right now. Thanks in advance .

ps. im doing 100 shot its a 6m car with bolt ons and bigs and littles

I would just stick with a 50 shot. I believe you can do a 50 shot and not have to do anything else. Anything more and you need to do a bunch of things to prevent disaster imo.

nitrous

I don't know if 50 would even be worth it . I'm doing all the safety accessories either way .
Plus a dyno tun to make sure it won't lean out

As with any mod but ESPECIALLY nitrous, it's all in the tune. If you spend the money and do it the correct way you could easily run a 100 shot. However, be warned that our motors aren't necessarily designed for nitrous. The powder coated rods and hyperutectic pistons don't allow for much error. That being said there are plenty of people using laughing gas and haven't had any problems.

I'm planning on doing the same set up

CAI custom X pipe headers and wet 100 shot

I was told from the guys at jms nitrous that any thing over 100 shot you world have to change to bigger injectors.

But a 75 to 100 would be safe with our motors I was told.

Power is addictive. You don't have the right pistons for nitrous and you pretty much have a brand new car. If it was a old fox body I would say just throw a 150 shot on it and run it down the track but its not. I would imagine that you want your motor to last past 100k lol

Like I said before that's my plans

Bro I could careless if the nitrous blows up my motor its only a 30k car not that serious.. Plus it will give me an excuse to get a aluminator motor. (-:

And the dyno guys we have I'm not worried about it

If it's "only" 30k should of got the gt500. That's "only" 60k for 660 hp...

100 shot will not blow your motor with a good tune and the right plugs. Not even close. There are several people on here running more then that. I believe Raptor is running 150hp with an NX kit.

I personally have never sprayed a coyote motor, but have had nitrous on all of my ls1 cars. Including up to a 175hp shot on my 99 z28. Never had any problems. Yes i had a custom ground cam, built for nitrous, and a good tune, but i ran countless bottles through it with no issuess. I ran a 100 shot on all the others, and went through a 10 lb bottle about every month. Just be careful. Get all the necessary goodies. Pressure gauge, bottle warmer, blow down tube (as some tracks require you have one) and i would also recommend a purge kit.

I think you already mentioned it, but def make sure you get a window switch too. Otherwise, one missed shift will ruin your day haha

And yeah, traction will be your enemy.

You will be perfectly fine with a 100 shot. Just get a good tune. I do not recomend email tunes for nitrous either. I am curently at a 150 shot on mine. Will be going up to a 200 shot with e85 soon.

I have about 4,500+ in my nitrous set up with tunning and gauges and all as of right now. Nitrous is not necessarily cheaper as people say. If done right it can get expensive

With a hundred shot as long as you are no higher than a 12.0 at full throttle you will be good.

Im not positive about the coyote, but with my ls1s my tuner liked to keep my A/F ratio at about 11.5 With -3 degrees of timing for a 100 shot. -5 for 150

Running a 100 shot via the nitrous outlet plate kit. I just addedthe NOS window switch and everything is running great. I have sprayed about 15 times during test/races and atthismpoint I have had zero issues. Unfortunately I won't know ny long term issues until....well down the road.

Currently I am using a Bama tune and have no idea what my A/F ratios are at this point. I plan to dyno tune in the few months just to be safe.

You can really put the purge anyway you want. Most people will either run it up throw the top of the hood, like where you windshield wipers are, or out through the front of the grille.
