So frustrated, don't know what else to do

Ok, so I know there's a million threads on this and trust me I've read them all and have done all I can do. But after installing both upper and lower control arms plus upper control arm bracket. Torqed all bolts "several times". I'm still hearing that f@$&>%g clunk coming from the rear suspension. It happens when hitting bumps, hitting the gas from a dead stop or while moving. I've got j&m lowers and steeda upper with the j&m upper bracket. I don't know what else to do. I've double and triple checked all bolts and its still there. Some one help before i just take it all off and go back to stock. What am I doing wrong here?

---------- Post added at 06:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:50 PM ----------

And looks to me like the lower control arms are moving which is where a think the popping noise is coming from. But I torqued them all down to 130 ft. Lbs. so I don't know. Any one else have this problem?

My panhard bar came loose as well. Every little bump caused a rattle. Tightened it back up, no more rattle

Mine was exactly like that.... A speed bump didnt make as much noise but a pot hole or crack in the road or even minor bumps would drive u crazy

well I finally found out what it was. I ordered my J&M upper control arm bracket from ebay from the seller named "modifymystang" in his posting it clearly stated that it fit the 2011 gt Mustang 5.0... so I bought it the upper stock oem bolt under the seat did not fit the bracket, so I thought that I would have to buy one. so thats what i did. It was much smaller than the oem bolt, being a 14mm. come to find out after calling J&M tech line, that J&M does not even make a bracket for 2011 plus mustangs.. thank god I talked to him. he was super helpful.. so I want to say to all If you own a 2011 plus mustang do not purchase any J&M control arm upper bracket off ebay or any where for that matter. after pulling it off I noticed it was not an EXACT fit but it was so close you can not tell.. I just noticed all the wear marks on it from where it was and was not touching the car.. pulled it out and put factory back in untill I get my new one from steeda.. Talked to the seller on ebay. he said he thought they would fit any model and that J&M's website just updated the info on their site so he had no clue it would not work. not buying that line. but at least he is going to refund all money.... it has been one hell of a big hassle, but so glad the damn clunk is gone and I can have some peace now while driving. good thing I found out before that little 14mm bolt I put in there broke off or I probably would not be here to write this........

Wow man, glad you figured it out. And before anything serious happened. Thats scary stuff, especially with a UCA. As you said that could have really messed you up. Im with you, and not buying the sellers line. Another reason why i will never buy a serious component like that off ebay. I would report him to paypal or ebay, just to make sure he didnt pull the same stunt with other buyers.

Yep, green loctite is considered permanent, I use it on internals.

I'm just going to chime in and say it was probably a bad idea to mix&match manufacturers on the UCA and UCA mount as well. I would buy this as a matched set only. I suspect a lot of the clunking is from using an aftermarket UCA on the stock mount, or using someone elses mount on an aftermarket UCA.

I know the UPR UCA and mount are designed to work together, and I know the mount is different because the UCA comes with sleeves that you have to put in if using the stock UCA mount. I also know mine does not clunk, at all. Coincidence? I think not.
