Brembo brakes

Anyone else mad that Chevy puts Brembo's on all 4 corners on their Camaros but Ford only puts them in the front? Lol. Anyone with the Brembo package done something to their rear brakes? I'm tired of the small ugly stock brakes in the rear with the nice Brembo's up front. Let me know what you guys have found or done! Thanks!

The Subaru I had before the Mustang was the same, Brembo's on all corners. I was a bit surprised Ford only went with them on the front but the package price was cheap for what you get so I'm not really complaining.

If you don't mind keeping the single pistons, Steeda makes a 13" brake kit for the rear.

Chevy needs big brakes on all four because it's stopping a 4000+ pound car. Mad? No. Use the necessary technology to achieve the end result desired and don't over-egg the pudding. The stock back brakes are fine, cheap to maintain and allow you to fit any kind of drag wheel on the back, something you can't do with Chev or Dodge.

I don't track mine but I don't drive it like a granny either and I've been very happy with my '14 Brembo. I was a little confused at first that they didn't have Brembos on the back but for everything the option included I am very happy I got it.

I was under the impression that they didn't put brembos on the rear due to issues with knockback and the SRA. It's a side effect of using 50 year old tech in the rear end, instead of a modern axle like every other car. If you want to be mad about something, be mad that we still have a freaking log back there ...

Lol I'm not actually mad I would just prefer to have Brembo's on all 4 corners. And that's not necessarily true about Camaros because they still offer a SS without Brembo's so they're not "needed" at all

Yeah I was a little surprised but not mad. My Mom used to say only dogs get mad I don't track my car, but I am sure it's an easy upgrade. I wonder what they put on the GT500?

I hated the tiny rear brakes and put baer 14 inch slotted brakes in the rear. And upgraded the lines, fluid, rotors and pads all around.. Night and day difference. Stops faster than it goes lol

Whenever my pads go out I plan on getting the $400 kit from AM. I do wonder how long these brakes will last though, I have 25k miles and they still perform great

Chevy does a lot of things to the Camaro that is better than what Ford does to our Mustang. Seems like Ford does things on the cheap, until you look at how much more the Camaro's are. What fool spends $45k on a Crapmaro when you could have a Vette for a little more?

Exactly! I had no interest in the camaro when shopping around. If it was cheaper, MAYBE. Just maybe

Ford's "on the cheap" stuff also tends to flat out work.....

MGT, with BBP
~107 ft 60-0
~.94 Gs lateral

v.

Camaro SS

~111 ft
~.86 g

You have to buy the recently released $3500 1LE package to match or exceed the MGT's #s, for what that's worth. My point being, it's not always he who has the most technology wins. Sometimes it's about having enough technology and knowing when to say when on things, so you can focus elsewhere.

Camaro 1LE Package $43,000

VS

Mustang GT Track Package $39,000 (w/$8,000 in cosmetic and electronics upgrades)

The Camaro has much improved handling and braking. But again, it's fng $43,000!!!!!! Maybe you get a deal on one for $38,000.

I paid $27,750 for my 2014 GT TP (base). Rear brake upgrade $400-$500. Full aftermarket adjustable suspension upgrade $1200 = $2000.
For $30,250 it would eat the Crapmaro's lunch straight line or around a track. I'm pretty sure a Boss302 would do the same.

For $43k, I would pick up a Vette or Boss302. There is no camparison if you ask me.

You get a Camaro and if it performs, you way over paid, if it doesn't perform you still overpaid. Base V8 Crapmaro is still $4-$6k more than a GT that stomps it in every way. At $6k you could upgrade the susp and strap on a blower.

Not to mention the mullet matching interior the looks like it was designed to match someone's double wide.

Why does anyone ever buy those I don't know.

They are twice as good as stock, look great, but I agree they are disappointing. Not what you would expect at all. The woman's 13' VW base Jetta brake system offers 4x stopping power over my 14' GT W/TP
