CAI and Bama tune install, CEL comes on

2014 Mustang 5.0, 6 speed, 9300 miles

I installed an Air raid cai and bama tunes and my CEL came on with the code P0171 Bank 1 too lean. I switched tunes and it would still come on after a little bit of drive time on every tune. I then tuned the car back to stock and again it came on. I'm lost, I highly doubt its an o2 sensor or any other defective part seeing as the car has 9k miles on it and I havent had any problems up until now. I will check all the hoses to the intake tube and make sure my MAF was put in correctly, but any other input is greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry about the issue you're experiencing. It's odd that it happens on all of your tunes and your Stock file! We send out thousands of tunes and build them all from the ground up for your PCM code and your mods. They're not just "canned" tunes, they're built custom by our team, so every once in a while it's possible we mess one up! We'll definitely get it straightened out for you, though!

Please give the Bama team a call and they'll gladly get you squared away! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Agree but did he not say he still has the same problem with the stock tune loaded so the problem must not be in the tune he had received.

Yes he did. He said when he went back to stock, it still did it.

As ZLwhat said, you may want to check the CAI and confirm there are no leaks. Have someone rev the engine as you listen under the hood.

Ok so the problem is not with the tune, otherwise I think it would of gone away when he loaded the stock tune back on.

He didn't remove the Cai. If he had, I would think it was something besides the tune. As the ZL said, it's either a leak in the Cai, or the tune.

I don't think it's possible to reverse the position of your MAF, but that would throw off your o2 sensors. I put on an AirAid Throttle Body Spacer resently and a young friend stopped by to observe. There was a little breeze at the time and I had a small paper shop towel off to the side where he was standing. And in trying to be helpful, so the towel didn't blow away; he pushed it up a little, into the stock air tube. I couldn't see it where I was standing, directly in front of the Throttle Body; so when I reattached the Stock tube and latched the cover over the Air Filter, it was completely out of site. So when I started it, it kept stalling. Of course, starting it pulled that towel right up to the MAF. An adult friend had a computer reader, and it showed the o2 readings for both banks was way off. It took a couple of disassembly and reinstall, to find out the cause. So I'd be suspicous of something to do w/ your MAF.

This is a possibility. It would be rare, but I wouldn't rule anything out just yet! Definitely give the intake a once over and look for anything that looks defective or out of the ordinary.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance! Also, Thanks for all the kind words guys we really appreciate it.
