New Guy

Hey Guys,

Picked up my first Mustang on 7/1/13...a new 2013 GT Coupe Premium, Manual in Grabber Blue. I've been lurking on here for most of the time since to see what goes on with the cars and what the best early mods are.

Today I made my first upgrade purchase, an MGW shifter to get rid of that awful stock unit. Thanks for keeping the good information flowing!

-Matt

I just got my mgw last week and it literally transforms the car. The stock unit is garbage. You fully realize how bad it is when you try the mgw. I think it's the most important mod that can be made to this car. Horsepower is great and all but only if you can use it.

Agreed! After that I'm going to take care of the suspension to get rid of that body roll and wheel hop! THEN I'll start thinking about flash tuners and other power stuff. I can't forget wheels either, those will likely come before any additional HP as well.

I actually have a Bama sct tuner that I don't use anymore. I run a 93 race tune. Their preset tunes are fine but your probably better off getting a real tune from a local shop that can structure it the way you like it. There's definitely a difference but I think it's a great motor stock. I am looking into suspension upgrades though..

I'm with you on the motor, it's awesome. While I do like to launch hard like most folks, my favorite thing to do is pull hard through the corners, and the car has plenty of power for that. I'm sure I'll want more though, you always do after some time...

Welcome. I just drove my new 14 GT off the lot on the 8/3. I'm not new to ME. But I'm new to the GT board. Enjoy the car. I know I have been having a blast for the five days I've owned it put close 100 miles a day on it so far.
