4.6 exhaust tone on my 5.0?

Is it possible to get that snarly 4.6 growl out of our 5.0's? What's the best setup to get close to this? Kinda like the vid below...although I'm sure You guys know exactly what I mean by 4.6 growl lol

I have the Roush AB's...to me they're more of a tin canny glass pack sounding exhaust.

Mustang GT Very Loud Exhaust - YouTube
That is the worst sounding car, let alone mustang I have ever heard. Just run strait pipe with no cats if you want that garbage. There is no tone to that, no growl just **** pouring out the pipes. Awful. At least the outlaws, while blisteringly loud have some meat to them and don't sound like a bunch of bolts rattling in a tin can.

Lol!! I'm sensing you're a person that has trouble speaking his mind. You need to learn to not hold back, and say what you think.

Personally the 3V 4.6 sounds weaker than my 4.0L V6 in person when I've compared with some guys! However the 2V 4.6 is ungodly amazing, I love it's sound, it was my favorite until the 5.0 coyote.

I've heard guys with flowmaster classics and pype bombs and the fr500s and honestly they just sounded not as beefy as they should and my v6 was putting out a more aggressive sound. I'm not dogging the 4.6, I was honestly surprised myself

Well I can take your motor and you can have mine. I'll even throw in my whole exhaust and that'll give you that tone

I hope the new mustang comes with a mid muffler setup for the exhaust because that sounds so much better than axleback style to me

there's no room for mid-muffler under the 550 with IRS, I guarantee that.

I like my GT500s, lol.....

...different chassis....Mustangs and Cobras were modified Fox bodies all the way to 2004. Those cars had the space mainly because the fuel tank wasn't under the floor and they were made for mid mount mufflers. Look at the pics of the 2015 underbody. There is no hope of fitting mufflers larger than the resos under there.

Hey guys. I'm on my way to pick up some axle backs off of a 2013 gt500...the stock mufflers. These will fit my 5.0 right? And are these the same as AM's gt500 axle backs?

You'll need the new 2013 gt500 valence cause the new 2013 gt500 mufflers are a quad tip compared to the dual tip of the GT and V6

Springs aren't worth the hassle of installation.

I just installed these they do sound really good. They do bolt right up. I'm a novice, and the previous owner switched out stockers to custom straight pipes it was a bit of a pain to get the existing off, but was pretty simple to put the new ones on.

Also, FWIW, if you like the look.... I painted the body of my mufflers (not the tips) black before putting them on, with high heat spray paint. really makes them disappear. you would need to do the back of the muffler and some on the bottom. I did the whole thing since I'm a little nuts. I have a white car with some select blacking out.

Do you have pictures? I have the same exhaust, and after I put it on I was like damn, I should have painted it first.
