Ever do a mod you regret?

After doing a lot more research on wheels and tires I realized I seriously jumped the gun when I put 285's on the back of my Stang. For what it cost me I could have bought four new RTR rims and kept the rubber I had.

Do not really have a mod I regret. But I often wish I did not have to put on a uca and bracket. I had to with the drop on my car to get the drive line right. But every since I put on the steeda uca and bracket I've got this little pooping noise. I've checked and rechecked and then rechecked again to make sure all is right and it will not go away. I do not have lca relocation brackets on yet. That may be the reason for popping noise. But I do not know. But I guess you could say I regret that the most. That little popping noise when I take off or slow down is getting very annoying.

Yes, wheels and tires. 2400 later I got the roush wheels and cooper tires I originally wanted lol. Impulse buying screwed me over.

That's kinda where I'm at but in the opposite direction. I went staggered and realized how much it would cost to keep 285s or bigger on the back. Once I go with RTRs I can go 275s all the way around. Much cheaper, looks good, and I can rotate.

I wish I never purchased the track key. That was a waste of money after I started modding the track key was useless

Yes. I installed Flowmaster Pro-series Hushpowers. Way too much drone during acceleration and freeway speed. Took them off after a few months.

Installed roush thinking I wouldn't get the mod bug........ Got the mod bug. Now want to do full exhaust. Sold the roush and bought the gt500's. 160 down the drain. And everybody keeps telling me they loved the sound of my roush. I'm like. Just wait till I get the o/r x pipe.

I regret the first mod which was Barton Industries short throw shifter and Bracket. I love the shifter and bracket but the problem is now I have 2-3 pages worth of mods I already picked to get my ride to where I want it performance and looks wise. It seems that as soon as I get paid I buy a part or parts, then I have to wait a whole month til I can buy some more... I JUST NEED ONE FIX MAN, JUST ONE FIX...

Not so much a mod regret but, I regret getting the Brembos for 3 reasons 1.) That 1600 could have got me Recarros 2.)I plan on getting new wheels and replacing the TP/Brembo wheels anyways. 3.) Bigger, better brakes can be done for a lot cheaper aftermarket that the Recarros can. Oh and getting the Roush exhaust, wish i would have gotten quad tips and the rear valance. Live and learn.

Roush side window louvers and a 3D Carbon GT500 rear spoiler, money wasted and not a good return on re selling them.

I'm right there with ya on that one. I keep looking at what it's gonna cost to do all my mods. Sitting here thinking, ya know, 15k sure would make a nice down payments on a Shelby.

You didn't like the look? Those were two mods I was actually thinking about doing. Either that or completely sleeper and do a spoiler delete.

not exactlly a regret but the JHR shifter bracket which when I scored a used MGW went for sale. I never disliked the OEM shifter once I installed the bracket and learned the tight gates but really like the MGW

Yeah, and that was my reasoning for buying the GT. $ per horsepower comparison, you can beat the GT.

Going to get dyno time on Monday and get Dyno tune . Should be around 580-90 optimistically and was a electrical issue only problem now is car will stall out once in a while thinking tune issue

Glad to hear it wasn't major.

580-590 isn't going to lay a whoopin to a 13 gt500. $129 later and that Shelby is into the 700s.

Aluminator? That's what I'm leaning towards.

How much can an aluminator engine take in HP?

13+ GT500s rated at 662 crank. I kinda regret buying the GT instead of a used GT500, told myself I wouldn't do it again unless it was a boosted car. I really hate that my internals won't hold what I want and that the GT500 will. I love my Paxton and car, but just sometimes I wish I had gotten the 2011 GT500. On top of that there is a black with matte black stripes 13 GT500 at the dodge place in town. Passed it on the way to work today... Didn't help. 13s are overpriced but the 11-12s have the potential to be monsters while at a reasonable price now as well. And I just babbled haha, sorry

Oh and I regret my muffler deletes haha, car sounded way better without mufflers with the axel back unbolted rather than the delete

Could pick up a 2012 for 40k an your a pulley swap and a tune away from a beast. Not to mention the engine is already made for the abuse.

Bought mine as soon as they came out, sticker was 41k. Its loaded except for sunroof. There is some nice 2011 GT500s going low 40s high 30s. I've put too much in my car to do it now though. Im along the lines what ZL is saying, built for the abuse and boost. Now I'll need an aluminator or build my motor, which either way means a lot more cash that woulda came out to about the same or more when done correctly. I'm happy either way, just that little voice in the back of my mind that echoes out sometimes
