New 2010 GT, Removing Stripes an Option or No?

Yo doods, so today I drove 177 miles to get my 2010 GT Premium. It's perfect for me, Torch Red, 15,000 gently driven miles (a middle-aged woman owned it before me), leather, HIDs, 19" wheels, bone stock, Ford Certified Pre-Owned... All for an amazing deal.

These white stripes though... Were installed by her husband and it wasn't the best job (they're peeling, only on inside though).

Being a red car, only with 15,000 miles and three years old... You guys think the paint around them will be faded when removed?

Usually the paint will have a fade but if its brought to a good detailer they can sometimes do a color enhancement but that's usually expensive.

Congrats on your purchase!! I think u should be fine with 15k and 3 years... I'm not sure how the car was stored, but with that mileage, hopefully it was garage kept... A good detail should do the trick

Yeah that sounds like a garage queen. I doubt any serious fading. You should be ok

That's a beauty, and it looks like a great find. Sounds like you're gonna remove them anyway. Who knows? Maybe you'll like the darker red under the stripes if in fact there is some fading? I think a good reputable detailer would be able to handle it otherwise. I've taken mine to a local body shop for a couple of minor jobs that also does detailing. From what they've done for me, I would go back for a detail job.

3 or 4 years of striping leave them on lol. Paint will be completely different. You can high speed buff it with 3m 2000-3000 grit compound it should look good but may not be perfect. Worse case scenario you can purchase another set of stripes to put back on the car. Worth a shot. But maybe costly experiment.

I'm thinking it was garaged as well. My body shop said it would be faded, my vinyl guy was eh ab it.

Yeah, if worse comes to worst, I'm just going to replace them with some matte black stripes, my favorite! Just no pin stripes, yuck... Don't know what I'm going to do ab those
