Porting boss 302 mani??

Pros and cons of porting (cutting the fins) on the inlet hole on a boss mani.

Damn McQueen... I didn't want to read a novel on the subject.

My first instinct, when I saw the title of this thread, was to say, "Port it , of course". But when I saw the pic and your post, I thought, "Hmmm, they didn't put those there for no reason".
Nowadays, the factory is extremely interested in achieving maximum performance and efficiency. This wasn't always the case in years-gone-by. I've done, literally, 5 min mods, using a hacksaw and a screwdriver, that netted 20 rwhp. No sh t...

Well, anyway, you learn something everyday huh?

Good find, also guess this answers the age old question of stock CAI vs Aftermarket CAI with no tune.....

They actually didn't port the boss manifold. They ported a stock manifold and compared it. I would think you need your tune matching the bolt ons a bit more for a more accurate test, but interesting none the less.
