Please explain...how does this occur. The bolts holding the pulley have been cut right in half...

Over torqued and compromised so it broke?

That's a first for me, I could possibly understand if your were beating the tar out of your stang, but just cruising? Very odd. The only thing I could think is that something let loose in the compressor itself and it locked up while the engine was still moving. Sub'd. Keep us updated!

I went through 2 3.4L whipples on my lightning that locked up before I got a refund and bought a used 3.6LC kenne belle. The kenne belle never had any issues other than a small snout leak which I repaired with a high temp engine sealant.

I don't think this thread is legit. The guy never answers back other than to tell me I was right. Maybe he sold his car already

I thought I had responded to this thread...maybe not! Long story short there was more damage than first expected. We best determined that when my car was detailed they got some spray on the belts, causing them to jump off and then recatching and ripping off the top and bottom pulleys. The blower seized at this point or right at the same time. Total replacement cost with no labor 700.00. Very expensive mistake...I don't use that detailed anymore...I was not covered by whipple...

Whipples locking up is not far from uncommon. Your blower might have just locked up and the torque from the belt snapped off the pulleys. I was shafted by whipple when my second blower (2.3L) seized and luckily I had purchased an aftermarket warranty and was able to get a refund. Be glad no harm was done to your engine! It could have been much worse. I've seen belts come off of race cars that have blowers on them and the belt completely rip up the hood also. Hopefully you don't have to deal with this again.
