It will only take a hour or two, tops. Just follow the directions and you won't have any trouble. Good luck!
^ He's correct. I've never really attempted to tackle any sort of wiring jobs and I go this installed in under an hour. There's no splicing or anything required, it's literally plug and play! The entire harness is labeled with letters/numbers on where things go, I'm confident you could do this no problem.

Can I plug in my OEM back up camera that's in my spoiler? And not use the one supplied?

Dies anyone know if they are releasing it for other mustangs? Such as the sn95 or s197? Or is there a way I can port it to work with an sn95?

Yes. I believe the OEM camera sends video via one yellow RCA plug up to the dash. The Raxiom head unit has two camera inputs, both of which use a s-video connection. What I did, and you can do also, is I bought 4pin s-video to RCA adapter at bestbuy for like $4. Connect that to the video feed from your OEM camera and connect to the Raxiom backup cable. Then mount the supplied camera up front, like behind the lower grill, and then connect that to the second camera input with the supplied s-video cable. I'm basically doing the same thing but using a license plate backup camera with IR night vision. Good luck!

There is a micro Sd card that's accessible in the front. I imagine you'll either connect that to your computer and update thru the manufacturer via a link on AmericanMuscle.com. Or map updates will come and download automatically. I'm not a 100% on either one, but I know it will be update-able.

Nice my base model has both sweet. Some leather seats and a sub woofer and I went to a premium for half the price.

Is there an option to change the colors of the backlighting instead of having that blue?

Yes. The Raxiom unit has inputs for Mustangs that already had a back-up camera.

All updates will be downloadable from our site and you can use the micro sd port in the front to load them to the device!

As of right now, we don't have plans to do so. However, that can always change! I'll get this suggestion over to my product development team and the Raxiom team to see what they think!

So I need SYNC to be able to use this GPS??
That was a huge blunder on Raxiom's behalf.
Way to alienate a huge percentage of potential customers. I'm not about to spend another 700-800 bucks to have sync installed just so I can get this navigation system.

Your better off getting an aftermarket, all this Raxiom unit is, is a bridge to add a screen... SYNC equipped Fords have steering wheel buttons and built in mic, which base models don't have... So it's not that simple, a unit like this would suit u best

$700-$800 for sync + $700 for Raxiom Nav. and keep the stock look $1500 is still way cheaper than dealer installed sync $700-$800 + $2300 for Nav. $3100. Just a thought.

I have a base GT... Just bought it 2 months ago and it is equipped with sync and the steering wheel controls. So I would say yes you can get sync added to your Base GT.

I think everyone is confusing what a base gt is... base as in no options... not base as in non premium... a base gt does not have sync... you have to get the tech package which is a 301a not a base gt 300a

Fantastic upgrade for my "to do" list; looks like an early Christmas gift to myself. Can't wait to make this upgrade.....before I put the stang away for the winter or put her on the road come spring.

This is not an audio thread. It was about a new product for s197. It's right where it belongs.

It's a new product about new audio gear. Sounds like an audio thread to me just saying

$700 seems too high of a price compared to other units out there. I see them for around $300 all the time.

What??? Find me one for $300 then.... Matter of fact, if you find one for $300, buy it, and then I'll pay you $350 for it.

Are u serious?!? This thing is a steal for what it is!! A OEM like unit that plugs and plays, no splicing no nothing... An aftermarket unit like that will be at least $1000 plus a $400 installation kit with ac controls, don't forget units to make the steering wheel buttons work, Bluetooth, etc. were talking about $2k for a very functional aftermarket unit

Still, it is EPIC fail that you can't get this unit if you dont have SYNC.
I have/had no interest in SYNC as voice recognition technology is still poor at this point and it seems mostly like a gimmick.
I REALLY wanted this unit, it looks awesome, and I think raxiom lost a ton of customers with this. I would imagine less than half the mustangs on the road have SYNC.

My sync works every single time perfect and in fact is a main selling point to my cat for me. The fact I can play music through my stereo from my phone without hooking my phone to anything is pretty cool and the phone commands always works as well

There are tons of good choices for non SYNC cars... Aftermarket, it's not like non SYNC cars have the built in buttons and mic... On the contrary, SYNC cars didn't have a choice until now... A lot of guys are looking at this in the wrong perspective on what the purpose of this is

Where are you getting these numbers and info???
Sync is great, and as gtstyles already said, was a main selling point, and has worked flawlessly for me as well. And i would beg to differ that most mustangs out there, especially the 13-14s, have sync.
