You will want to either put the rear wheels on locking ramps, or get the entire car lifted, I'm assuming axle-back exhaust. Welcome to ME.

If its just axle backs and you are fairly thin you can just do it on the ground, thats how I did it. Check this out for the jack points Lift / Jack Points

Welcome to the site dudette and you don't need to lift it but if you just want to I would drive it up on ramps. I'm a large guy and I've put on exhaust on a few 11-14 mustangs without lifting them.

Welcome to ME. You may want to consider upgrading your shifter first. I bought a Hurst with a Barton bracket. Wanted to get the feel of the car first...I wanna put a turbo! That is the truth. LOL

I got it professionally done. It only cost $75. I'm no pro when it comes to a wrench, so I let the pro's do it.

MGW is the best if you have around $500 to install and buy. It is made by a company called michigan gun works. If you want to buy used hit eBay. I have seen Hurst shifters listed for as low as $75 but you are taking a gamble. You may need to buy additional parts for used stuff. The MGW shifter is $390. The website is www.mgwltd.com/. You can save the install fee if u do it yourself.
