Ad Back up camera to Sync system 2011 GT

I have a 2011 GT 5.0 with the sync system. My system includes navigation and shaker audio but no back up camera. My wives ford fusion sport 2011 has the sync with the camera. Has anybody added one to their mustang and is it easy?

Thanks brother, I have a camera in mind that goes in the actual space between the tag lights. Just wanted to see if anyone else had done it. Thanks again

The unit itself has the capability, you just have to find a camera that will hook up... My guess is that most will be universal also.

He already has the sync touch screen navigation. He couldn't install this anyways since the ac controls are different on models with the touch screen sync navigation unit.

Thanks but fender is right, I only need camera and sensors hooked to my existing system and monitor. I also think while I'm in there install a bypass so the sync navigation and DVD player can be used going down the road.

I'm pretty sure you can purchase the camera spoiler from ford with the camera and then all you would have to do is wire to your head unit. Pretty simple install, and really, it would be the cleanest install. I have the back up camera on mine and while it's not a need to have item, i certainly appreciated for those first couple days of awkward parking when you're not entirely familiar with your cars dimensions. It's extremely cool for parallel in tight spots . No need to second guess where your *** is, you can just get in there as closer as pupils need.

I posted my camera install with picture on here some time ago. I used a Echomaster VM150 that I mounted under the spoiler (which Ford said couldn't be done) and it was fairly straightforward. The left support post on my GT/CS had a hole provided from factory that merely needed the hollow spoiler drilled to match. I built a custom wedge to provide the needed angle of view and wired into the reverse lamps while tying into factory harness for the video.
