X or H pipe...

I go with Gt 500 mufflers? What's got the sweetest sound? Brands?

Had to contend with CA emissions standards as this is my DD. So I got ford x pipe with borla catback S type exhaust. I didn't go ATAK because it would be too loud and didn't go with Touring because it wouldn't be loud enough.

Thanks. But I'm looking for the best match with Gt500's. Plus, I have no emissions to contend with. Resonators will be removed as well.

It's really up to you what you like better, I personally like h pipes, I would recommend looking up videos on YouTube

I'll let you know in the next two days. My H pipe is coming in and I have gt500 axlebacks with resonators removed.

An H pipe is supposed to make the exhaust note deeper, while the X pipe will make it higher pitched and "raspier"

As for performance gains, the H pipe makes slightly less power than an X pipe. Because it is so minimal you're better off making the sound a priority over the power gains.

I have a prochamber... It is a little quieter than the H and X pipes, but it sounds freakin' amazing. It is quiet around town (quiet to mustang guys, people still hear me before they see me). But when you get on it, it screams.

I just got my resonators cut out, gt500s, lethal o/r x. Wouldn't trade the sound of my exhaust for the world. I'll post a vid tonight

I've got the gt500's with lethal over axle pipes and lethal o/r H. Zero drone anywhere in the rpm band, no rasp and growls when I get on it. Perfect.

I have JBA longtubes and at first I had the JBA H-pipe for about 6 months then I bought the JBA x-pipe and not only does it sound better but I gained a little hp, oh and yes I have the gt500's , the gt500's are the only muffler that I know of that you can run H or X pipe and no cats and no resonators without any rasp...

Did anyone hear have a leaking issue with the JBA H pipe? Had mine done today and it's leaking a little. I've got the cats on still. I think it's coming from passenger side and/or the part where the H pipe connects in the middle.

I have the same pipe, but you have to seriously fiddle with it to get the fitment correct. Try pulling on your over axle pipes to get them as close as you can and tighten them up as much as possible. Then push the h-pipe right at the H with your foot towards the front of the car and tighten it up as best you can. That's what I did.

H pipe if you love that deep classic mustang sound! Both are still awesome either way though.
