MMD Hood Scoop

I was wondering if anyone has 2013-14 MMD Hood Scoop installed on their Mustang. Curious about the fit and the Pre-Painted quality from American Muscle.

Don't have their hood scoop but I have bought several other pre-painted parts. Great quality and color match.

I think you're really going to like the MMD hood scoop on your Mustang. I've never been a huge fan of a hood scoop, personally. However the 2011+ Mustangs look really good with them!

All Pre-Painted parts are painted right here, at AmericanMuscle HQ, with the same base coat clear coat urethane paint Ford used on the exterior of your Mustang to match your stock factory color perfectly.

In all honestly, I like the roush hood scoop a lot better. Don't get me wrong, the mmd hood scoop looks nice. Especially after the project mmd car showed it off so well, but it looks a little small and cheap in my opinion. The roush hood scoop is more round and i feel like it gives it a more modern look while the mmd hood scoop gives it a more retro look.

Isn't that what our cars are "retro"

No, I would completely agree with you. The 05-14 mustangs are a sort of throwback look to the classic mustangs. However, the 10-14 mustangs have a bit more of a modernized look to them, which is why i believe the Roush hood scoop would flow with the look of the car better. Thats only my opinion though.

The problem I saw with the Roush scoops was when I installed one on my 2005 F150 (was made for the F150's). This fake hood scoop held water; when I would wash it (simple garden hose pressure), or rain, water would trap inside the scoop. When you drove off, the water would spray back against the windshield for a mile or two. A bit aggravating when you just washed and polished the vehicle. I removed it (was bolted to hood), tried several re-sealing tapes and even the good automotive 3M tape (this was the last attempt, as that stuff is the best you can get). It still held water. Not as much with the automotive 3M stuff, but still held water.

How good is the fit against the hoods of our Mustangs?

Agreed, at that time Chevy and Dodge were doing the retro thing as well... Now they're all on the euro trend, my 13 is as euro as it gets... Feels like a little VW
