Raxiom OE-Style GPS Navigation installation problems!

Hi Guys,

I ran into three problems while installing my Raxiom GPS system.

1. The FM/AM radio does not work. I hear nothing but static.

2. When I plugged my car battery back in, the dome lights would not turn off. I made sure it wasn't the side switch.

3. The Heated Seats do not work.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know all the answers but check to make sure all the connections are plugged in. The antenna is probably not plugged in.

JonathanMustang,

Sounds like a few different wires could be disconnected or mixed up here. I'm sure we'll get this straightened out though!

First- it sounds like the antenna is not plugged into the Navi at all. You'll have to pull the head unit out again to get access to this plug. It also sounds like the heated seats were unplugged at the buttons on the dash, but were never inserted back in. These wires should be resting near each heated seat button behind the console and will plug directly back in.

Make sure there aren't any other lose wires about. The dome light has me a little stumped how it's affected, but lets get the first two handled and we'll go from there.

Let me know how you make out!

Shane

Thanks Shane, you were right about the Heated Seats wire.
As far as the Navi, it was plugged in but I still couldn't find signal. American Muscle shipped me a new system overnight and the new one works. I tried plugging in the new GPS to my older Navi but it still didn't work. I had to replace the whole system.

For the dome lights, I just put some WD 40 on the door sensors and the lights turned off when I closed the door.

Thank you and American Muscle.

I keep hearing about problems with this unit, I'm going to pay attention and follow these issues and research before buying. I've hear about the nav having a hard time finding signal, system locking up and also people saying the UI is notchy and unnatural feeling when using the radio settings and stuff like that. Is there a way to update the UI in the future?

I don't have problems with the GPS per say, the whole system will freeze when streaming over Bluetooth and using nav if a call comes in. I'm hopeful a future firmware update will resolve it. Otherwise the UI, I'm my opinion, has less button lag than the pioneer touch screens I looked at.

I heard a lot of cases of the system freezing while using different functions.

Hi all. I don't work for AM and recently purchased one of these. The unit works great on my 14' gt. I did however register the product with the navi extras web site to get firmware upgrades. If you have money to blow and you really want a navi then this is for you. If you have problems with the system and have a tune return your car back to stock and see how the navi behaves. Cheers!

What would my car having a tune have to do with the aftermarket nav unit?

Nothing. However I had the Bama 94 performance tune installed before I put the navi and it would go into an infinite loop of turning the radio on/off. Took the tune off and it solved the problem.

issue with driver side speaker

Hi. I just had the raxiom gps installed on my 2013 mustang and everything seems to work smoothly except for the gps sound. When I tried to change the voice, volume, or listen to directions, a loud cracking sound comes out of the driver side speaker and then I hear the gps voice over the static. I'm not sure if it is the flin-out wire or not. It also gives a "no sd card" error often when I try to use the gps. Please help, I am not very familiar with these things.

Sounds like you got a defective unit. I bought mine used and have never encountered these issues. I even get gps updates from naviextras.com.
