2nd gear

In first, clutch, go for second and it just sounds like it's grinding and won't hook.. :/ it's an 2012 5.0 Premium with like 218xx miles, 17 year old driven so it is kinda driven hard at times but I don't usually shift too hard. any ideas?:/

Technique, technique, technique first. This car doesn't appreciate being manhandled in the shifting dept. Firm, positive moves but, no slamming it around or meat-fisting it like an old toploader.

You might want to change out the shifter bracket for an aftermarket one, like Steeda's. That'll help a lot.

I'd definitely make a trip to the dealer with that one. Who knows you might get a new tranny out of it....according to my dealer they dont like to take the tranny apart.

Try shifting. Car with motor off, using clutch, if if shifts ok then it's the syncro. If if will not shift with the motor off, it's a bent shift fork.
