My car currently has gt500 axelbacks on it. I went to a local performance exhaust shop to get my resonators deleted, and the owner suggested doing a custom x pipe after the cats. He swore this would sound even better, and this would be the right way to do it. I asked him if it would drone at highway speed and he said no. Never heard if doing this, wanted to know if anybody had any thoughts.

I've seen some good thing's come out of custom shops. As for an x pipe, I wouldn't pay anymore than I could buy one off the shelf tho.

X pipes are so over priced it's not funny. You can buy a 10' stick of pipe for $15.

Leaving the cats on. Only charging me 100 bucks for fabrication and installation. This is just an alternative to a resonator delete.

At a hundred bucks I would jump on it and see what they can do. Who knows you might love it but if you dont then you are not out to much and to fix it just requires a couple pieces of straight pipe and a little time.

Good Luck!

Done. Came out sounding great. Guy swears the x is giving me performance gains even with the cats. Butt dyno doesn't really buy it, but it does sound sweet.
