CAI and Exhaust, Throttle sping Mod question

Let me first say that budget is a concern with me but not the ultimate decider.

I have decided to go with a STEEDA CAI, BAMA tuner combo from American Muscle. I have bought a few cosmetic things from them and they are great to deal with. STEEDA seems to have the most HP gain but I hear allot about Airraid also too so any input on the right choice between the two would be awesome.

As for Exhaust... I am looking at either the Pypes cat back super system or Hearthrob Straight Pipe cat to axle H pipe with Pypes balck axke back muffler deletes. Any suggestions on a difference betweeh the two? The susper system is $100 cheaper but the H pipe is a big plus right?

Does a bigger throttle body make a difference worth that money?

They have SR springs on sale and with the mount bracket can lower 1.4" for about $200. Does that help roll pretty good?

Thanks everyone

It's been proven time and again that the stock cai is the best on a na car.

Naturally aspirated, meaning there's no turbo or super charger.

You can skip the CAI and the throttle body. It's a waste for you and you could put the money elsewhere. I would also consider a different/better tune.

If I were tuning, I'd go with Steeda due to ther close relationship with Ford. If you have an issue with your warranty, they will work with you to prove the tune wasn't at fault. There are better tunes out there, but I don't know of any with that kind of support.

Your exhaust choice... Looks like you want it loud? If that is the case spend a little more and get the Flowmaster Outlaws. They sound great. I had the heartthrobs and the outlaws sound way better.

Very cool! You're going to love the Steeda CAI and Bama tune combo kit. That CAI looks great under the hood and definitely shows awesome results. You're not going to notice crazy horsepower and torque gains from a CAI, but you'll definitely notice some gains and it will look & sound a lot better!

When it comes to the tune, I'm glad you decided to go with Bama! We've tuned more Mustang's than anyone in the world and definitely have every aspect of these cars figured out. For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

It sounds like you definitely want a loud exhaust. Exhaust is a very hard part to recommend, as it really comes down to opinion. I have Long Tubes, X-Pipe and Corsa Extreme on my 2011 GT and absolutely love it! However, the next Mustang owner may just love the sound of a full blown straight pipe system. I just recommend going with whatever set up you like the best here!

A Bigger Throttle Body will definitely make a difference. However, it's very arguable if it's "worth it". In my opinion, Yes it's worth it! However, it's more a platform mod. You won't notice large gains with just a bolt on car, but once you have full bolt-ons and are getting ready for a Supercharger, Turbo, Nitrous etc.. it's a must have! I have a 90MM FRPP TB on my Mustang and love it. The added throttle response and little power gains were definitely worth it to me! On top of that, I go to a lot of shows so it looks really good under the hood.

Yes, lowering your Mustang is going to help with body roll. It will also eliminate nose dive while braking, along with a bunch of other things! Last but not least, you'll have that aggressive stance that we all love.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future. Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.
