Headers question

So I have a 2011 M6 GT with flow master outlaw catback. They come with a mid pipe already, now I'm ready to buy headers, is there any long tube headers that will be a direct fit on the flow masters or will I have to get a header mid pipe combo? I'm trying to save money!

You will have to get a mid pipe as well. All long tube headers are longer than your catted H pipe is. I would sugggest just getting an off road X or H pipe. You will gain "ALMOST" as much HP as with LTs, but at a fraction of the price. Install is significantly easier as well and you can run the same over axle pipes and mufflers. You could do a Lethal Off Road X or H pipe for under $400 and DIY

get 'em both

I have American racing 1 5/8'' long tubes and their off road X pipe. You will not gain as much power as you think by just adding a different X or H pipe, cause the stock headers are very restrictive. And that is confirmed by the guys at Livernois motorsports. Call them and ask, Those guys really know their ****.

With just the 3" Lethal Off Road X pipe, you will gain around 15rwhp over the stock mid pipe.
You have to tune, so you will gain another 15rwhp on you tune, so all in all from stock to using the 3" Off Road X Pipe, you can gain 30-40 rwhp depending on your tune. This will cost you about $300 and you can easily do it ALL yourself.

Long Tube Headers 30rwhp $800 not counting install, Header mid pipe around $300, so $1,100 not counting install. Just the equipement you could gain 40rwhp and some more with your tune. If you break down the $ per HP, it is a no-brainer. YES YOU WILL GAIN MORE HP WITH LT Headers and a header mid pipe, but the cost is 3x what an Off Road X Pipe costs.
Biggest advantage to the Off Road X Pipe is if you need to revert back to stock, it is a couple of hours MAX, not a full day.
