Dumps

Just got another 2014... I want a different exhaust setup. I saw American Muscle's MMD car was running dumps. Has anyone else experimented with this yet?

Im going this route but differently....ima install the Boss 302 Hpipe and weld in some bullit mufflers like on the MMD car to the side dumps and run it like that so I have side dumped exhausts and then my rear exhaust.

I'm confused... You're going to weld on a small muffler, and a turn down, after the side exits? Won't your exhaust be hanging off the side about a foot? Lmao

I think you'll really like this set up! As seen in Episode 3 of Project MMD, the car sounds great. We're running the Boss Style Side exit and welded in two bullit style mufflers with dumps, right off of the mid-pipe!

I've driven the car and it's not that bad when cruising around, very little drone for a set up like that but it sounds incredible at WOT!

This is just my .02. Definitely let me know what exhaust set up you plan to go with and I'd be happy to help you out!

I'd like that setup, but the boss style mid pipe is pretty expensive. I'd much rather just go with an Offroad X or H, some weld in mufflers, and then dumps.

They make small bullit mufflers about 9' well ima add those to the side exhaust dumps. So it just dumps it free flowing and louder than a boss sode exhaust

Back pressure? Other than turbo, isn't free flowing exhaust the best way to go? I have brought this up elsewhere before (on the pro back pressure side) and have only been presented evidence that less is better.

Too little back pressure will cause negative back pressure and that will merely rob u of a lil bit of down low tq

But dont matter to me if u disagree just try it for urself. Dyno it and test it. Or u can look it up on the svt forums they already tested it for us.

I don't know lol

Which is why I asked. I always thought that one needed it, but then from several people, I was corrected- but again, no sources. Anyone have sources?

This one made sense to me: Exhaust: The straight scoop on backpressure - DSM Forums

Less is more, no proof, just years of racing. That's with a standard size exhaust. The best bang for your buck is mandrel bent pipping. A shorter exhaust will give you down low power while a stock length will give you better top end.

I have offroad x pipe and a buddy gave me some race 3" bullets. We welded on some turndowns and bolted them to my x-pipe. It sounded mean as fuk outside the car, but stupid drone inside the car and I wanted to kill myself drone on the highway. I ran this setup for three days before they came off and I never plan to reinstall them again.

Will that exhaust delete panel be available for the '12 rear?! I'd love to run turn downs on my boss but the rear looks hideous without exhaust on it.

Please stop arguing about 2 HP.

The MMD car sounds good, but the ghost cam tune is what makes the magic happen. I almost get a b****r every time I hear the loping of a nasty 5.0 or 4.6 cam job. God that sounds so good!

The video doesn't do it justice, have to hear it in person. Heard a 13' 5.0 w/ghost tune and full exhaust fire up. As soon as the RPMs dropped it sounded like he had 6 Harley's under the car. Beautiful.

On a side note, a Camaro parked a few spaces away peed itself. 😕

You could install a couple QTP cutouts. Loud and rowdy whenever you want.

I've been wanting to do dumps on my 14. But I've been wanting the muffler cutout delete piece like the MMD mustang has. Is there any updates on production of it?
